Katzelkraft - Fairy Lights

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at Try it on Tuesday. The theme is: Winter Blues
I immediately thought of the snowflakes from the wonderful Christmas Snowflakes set, as my weekly Katzelkraft post is also due today.

Well, winter hasn't said its last word yet
and you can never start making winter/Christmas cards too early anyway - right?
If you want to work on your first cards for this year, Try it on Tuesday has the perfect challenge to do so!

First, I sprayed a sheet of Bristol paper with water on both sides, placed it on my work space and started to apply the colors Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves (all Distress Oxide). To do this, I used a stamp, which I re-inked each time and pressed more or less firmly onto the damp paper.
In between, I dried the colors again and again with the heat gun. Each time I moistened the paper again and applied the colors until I liked the result. Finally, I added a few splashes of color to bring more dynamics into the picture.
Now that the background was finished, I just had to stamp and emboss the snowflakes. The large snowflake in the bottom right corner is from Stampin'Up.
Last but not least, I added white and black ink splatters and stamped the sentiment. I cut the panel to size and added faux stitches before adhering it to a blank card. For this card I was very inspired by one of Yoonsun's wonderful cards.

...see you soon at "Try it on Tuesday" ;)

and...

...see you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Lucky Me

Hi everyone!
Today starts a new challenge at the Dream Factory
The movie for this month is

LUCK
We have St. Patrick's Day in minde,
but you're welcome to take inspiration from the movie poster and the movie itself! (see below)

I've been digging through my scrap box a lot these days....

...and guess where I found the background for this ATC? ...exactly, in my scrap box! :))
I splattered the piece of gelprint with white ink. While it was drying, I stamped the little girl and the cat, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. I stamped different background designs and the sentiment on the ATC. Added the girl and cat and backed the ATC with black cardstock. I think it fits the challenge :))

Let It Snow

Hi everyone!
Let's go for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown
This week we challenge you with the color

WHITE

White on white is a real challenge - at least for me!

I played around with different papers and layers, die cuts and embossing to add some pizazz to my card.
The snowflake I created using embossed vellum paper (from a box of chocolates), textured paper and glitter cardstock.

The panel in the center I embossed and embellished with half pearls and Wink of Stella. I backed it with glitter cardstock and adhered it with foam tape. The sentiment cut out of foam is also embellished with a few half pearls.
Hope you like it.

Now it's your turn! - Have Fun!!

National Escargot Day - DotMCC - Challenge #27

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating

National Escargot Day

Let's go out and eat some snails.
It's considered a delicacy by some. For many others, the thought of feasting on snails is just too yucky.
The approved way of celebrating National Escargot Day is by eating a plate of Escargots. For those who can't bring themselves and their stomachs to the table, I suggest making a card with snails on it for our challenge! 😉

I don't eat escargots, but there are quite a lot of them on my card! LOL
Except for the four snail shells on the far right, I drew everything by hand and colored it with alcohol markers.
I then masked the snail shells as best I could to sponge the background with Distress Oxides. The Birthday sentiment is from Stampin'Up. I got inspired on Pinterest. Hope you like it.

DotMCC - Challenge #26 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
It's time for a little reminder of our current challenge at Day of the Month Card Club. The theme is

Find A Rainbow Day

What luck! I found two rainbows at once!
You guessed it, I made two cards, but in the end I could not decide for one, nor the other,
so I show you both.

Well, actually they're not rainbows - only the colors, but that counts too! 😉

For my first card I used the same technique as for this card. I added washi tape to cover the part in the middle so I could add the beautiful sentiment from Katzelkraft afterwards.
After it dried and before I took the washi tape off, I splattered some black ink on the panel.

On the left of the sentiment I stamped a unicorn head and on the right end I adhered three rhinestones. I cut the panel to size, backed it with black cardstock and adhered it with adhesive foam pads to the blank card.

For the second card, I used basically the same technique, but this time I added all the colors at once to the acetate. I covered a circular area with washi tape, placed the inked and water splashed acetate on top and rotated it slightly in a circle to blend the colors.
To make the inner circle I used a circle die. I inked it with the same colors, splashed it with water and then pressed it onto the paper.

I stamped the sentiment and the image (both Scrap Plaisir) and colored with Aquamarkers.
As a final touch, I splattered some black ink onto the card and added three sequins.

Hope you like it!

I made a tutorial, to show in pictures, how I realized the background of my cards. It's in French, but you'll see, it's not hard to understand. Thank you for taking the time to watch!

Find A Rainbow Day - DotMCC - Challenge #26

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating

Find A Rainbow Day

Rainbow: A spectrum of light in the form of a multicolored arc, appearing in the sky, is caused by both reflection and refraction of light in water droplets in the Earth’s atmosphere. Rainbows always appear directly opposite of the sun.
Red is the color that is visible on the outer part of a rainbow and violet on the inside of a primary rainbow. The sequence of colors in a rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

There are people that see rainbows as an artistic masterpiece in the sky, to others it is a sign of hope...

I made a pretty simple card.
I applied the colors in order on dry watercolor paper. To do this, I used a piece of acetate of the the same height as the card. I applied a small line of Distress Oxide ink, splashed it with water, then pressed the color onto the watercolor paper and pulled the acetate away toward the edge of the card.
I repeated this process for each color and let the panel dry.

Finally, I stamped the beautiful quote from Katzelkraft and adhered the panele to the blank card.

Hope you like it!
