Lions Are Strong
So... I went to the city to get two lions on Sat, huh.
And bypassed this lille fella.
Made my way via the Canapé-shop, which was closed (!) and took some pics, people thought I´m a tourist again ;-)
This truly is the city of Henry, the Lion, huh?
Opposite you find the church, never saw this really before:
Death, yes, that´s not funny.
Talked to Niece - this is so weird to write down anyways! Wasn´t she just a Baby a sec ago?!
Now I really can talk to her!
Ask, how she´s handling the sickness.
Until this morno a girl "a bit older" was in her room in hosp.
Yeah, a bit like 17, her Daddy told me.
Kids, huh?!
11 years is just "a bit", and I´m afraid Niece is right about this, too.
She´s taking it all like a Lion, brave girl.
Sunday "everybody" went to visit, so I decided Wednesday I´ll hop in.
Like in hop in from/to 80km/56km, gah.
Tourist-me took some more pics.
It was market day:
About the Lions...
Bro said no.
No more stuffed animals!
Certainly I threw away the bill already - hence this fella...
(Awww, the paws!)
... will stay with me.
Shoot!
Aren´t you bored in hospital?
No more toys, Bro said, bring a book.
She cannot read yet.
Wouldn´t this be more handy?
What would you do, respect or offer anyways when being there (to Mum/Dad) and take home if really not appreciated?
Hosp...booooring!

You Wanna Tell Me Something? II
I don´t need to drink alcohol to say my city is beautiful.
But, alas, a book on Braunschweig´s pubs and restaurants, and I have a voucher, too?
I took it home.
Hm.
Zea ...?
I think we really, really need to go and say our hello´s. Or good-bye´s?
I´m not sure anymore, this is kinda creepy ;-)

Some Arty Stuff
Roamed around a bit the other day and finally took a pic of this artwork at the Technical University for Chemistry.
Neat, no?
On the way back from the bakery I saw this mural:
Not really sure what it´s supposed to mean, though.
This goes through as artwork as well, no?
I think the handwriting is arty... wish I could write like that. At times I fail to read my own!
Do you like circus?
I never did, not even as a kid.
Was as freaky for me as the mural brings on the atmosphere (to me)...
Walking, not cycling makes a difference, no?
I´ll walk to the city now, to buy two lions.
Lions are strong, no?
Niece is in hosp.
Diabetes 1.
Health, why do you do this to the people around me.
The ones I like and love.

A Stroll
There is no denying, autumn is here and hence I did what my calendar suggested for the day despite the icky weather.
I took another route to the city (and did not get lost in "Tetris-city", as Teamleader calls it) - but I saw this rather really ugly hotel.
Still seems to operate, too, how crazy is that?
10 minutes from the heart of the city might be a reason, huh?
But, it´s not all that ugly here!
And in the city I found this new (?) shop, cute idea:
Last time to get out the cam was at the Altstadtrathaus:
I then tried to do some shopping, for others, again, and then went home.
The weather really is crap atm!

Someone Turned...
insert "not so old" ;-)
From the City of Henry the Lion I went to the Lion-girl (zodiac-wise).
Well, after Bro checked my eyes again to make me "night glasses" for driving.
And that was after a visit at Ingo´s parents.
Reckon they were really happy to see me and maybe I´ve cleared things a bit.
They said they don´t go to Braunschweig for shopping anymore, they feel too old for the stress in finding a place to park and to do all the walking.
In two weeks they´re off to Spain for winter.
Ingo´s lille pressie to the kids was good, esp since Wee One was still in kindy ;-)
(Full pics again here)
SIL made Fanta-cake and the kids both joined in singing "Happy Birthday" to Daddy, yes, in English.
And certainly they helped blow out the candles, too:
SIL even got some salty stuff for me, but, alas, the Döner!
I tried a lille piece of the Fanta-cake (not very sweet) and that was it then.
The fifth portion of kale I ... took to the bin. 5 days, Ingo said: No, don´t risk health. And I wasn´t hungry anyways!
Sadly 04:30 I took off already to make it back in light even if there was traffic jam (wasn´t the case).
Oh, how I dislike the dark half of the year!
At least Bro liked the Advent-calendars! :-)

Too Vivid
We were in China, Ingo and I.
The hotel room was very simple, toilets over the hall, just like in Lübeck.
MIL was there, too.
I was applying for a job and wanted to take a shower first - all showers were occupied.
Pics: Brolly was a pressie from Dad or Mum, they brought from a trip to watch-maker Seiko/Japan.
Wrapped up in a paper saying it was made in China. Alas!
Weeee…. Have you ever had such a stressfull, too vivid dream that…
Finally the clock rang, I got up, took my toothbrush, toothpaste, leaned forward… and blood dropped from my nose.
This, for real.
Can´t remember when last time my nose bled.
Guess it was all a bit much, MIL complaining at Bro that Ingo never calls, the rather long wait for Ingo after the OP, the drive(s) as co-driver…
Some days really aren´t your days, huh?
Had to park two streets from home.
05:10 a.m., it´s pitch-dark, mild rain, I´m near the corner to the next street when a guy in a red (!) jogging suit turns around the corner at half speed.
Boy, the first sec I thought it´s such a mean clown attacking!
Who on earth runs out and about in mild rain at that time and cold anyways.
Off to Bro now (and maybe Ingo´s parents) – luckily all that happened yesterday, so, today might be my day, right?
Or rather his, it´s his Birthday :-)

Addendum To Kale
I think as contagious as Jamie´s ways to introduce (healthy and) fun cooking is...
I have to admit.
I´m not even through with the 30-minutes-meals.
I will resume!
And maaaaaybe, Grace...
Maybe.
Me... cooking.
Maybe
(see last posts comments)
Finally... Rain
It was cloudy and foggy all day at work.
And when I entered Braunschweig I found myself in rain.
Brought the car to the garage to let it get changed to winter-tyres (let´s hope this was unnecessary!).
1 hour, they told me.
So I took my cheapy-car-brolly and took off to the bakery.
Ahhhh, don´t you love the rain?
Always bitter-sweet to leave or arrive, I think.
Better stay in town, no?
Sometimes, at least.
After 50 minutes I was back and the sales-mate gave me a very strange look - just a sec before he´d sent me an sms that my car is ready :-)
Back home...
Luckily I still have kale, not kale soup!
Yes. Kale. Me.
Ingo isn´t allowed k-vitamins, hence I was on my own.
Saturday a bit over half an hour cooking, then 2 1/2 hours simmering with just occasionally checking, Sunday another 1 hour of simmering to get the rest of the meat ready.
Four times kale for me. In a row.
The joy of being single, food-wise.
And, let me tell you: Wasn´t even that bad, this cooking-thing.
Won´t becoming a hobby of mine, but... I did it.
Ingo tasted a wee bit and said: Yummy!

It´s A OK
This is Jasperalle, the lower part, close to the theatre.
If you can afford to live here, maybe even own: congrats, you´ve made it.
I´d really love to see it from the inside!
The other side, the last house before river Oker crosses:
Is everything funny when you´re "rich"? ;-)
Dr. Olaf Knabe...
Knabe, btw is the old-fashioned word for "Junge", "boy"...
Let´s hope he is old enough to do a job on your teeth that is (more than) OK, huh?
I sure will stay with our dentists...
