Wanna Move?

Saw this "furniture taxi" in the street.
They do removals, clearing out, disposal, building cleaning and they rent trucks.

"Just in time & clean"...

Hm. Dunno. Aren´t elephants rather slow? And... don´t you have the saying for a clumsy person that the person is like an elephant in a china-store?

I think if I ever move again I rely on my lille Bro and his friends again!

This is for Tom´s Signs2.

And eeeeek. Cameras.
I asked my customer to record our meeting so I can review it.

Shoot. I had to hear my own voice - and it´s horrible!
I remember when I was 5 my parents secretly caught me on film whilst I was doing a puzzle, singing along.

I never sang again, - horrible, THIS is my voice, how do people stand me?!
And now I heard it again. Horrible.

Like an elephant!
Think I´m wearing a Christmas shirt there?
Bro was born end of October.

And here´s another sign... one that Christmas is rolling in - 24 days to read this - I found it in the street:

It says in German "Überraschung zu Weihnachten" / "A Christmas-surprise".
It´s written in Platt, a dialect they still speak at the coast.
There is also a radio program in Platt, which Ingo listens to when driving to/from work.

I´s tough to read, have a look:

"Einmal im Jahr...
Vor ein paar Wochen war ich bei einer Vereinsversammlung, dort hielten sie einen Vortrag und den wollte ich mir gern anhören."... or such.

This is for Tom´s Signs2.

Job-wise...  (I wanna keep track of this also for myself)

I was like TOTALLY frustrated yesterday.
My one monitor flickers, and reckon at one point Ingo has to drive the stuff to Siemens again, the admin needs to really  test it there.

The EHD called me due to another problem... externals don´t get full access automatically. There is yet another external problem and from those I didn´t hear a thing so far.

Then P called me to introduce herself and pretty soon it was clear we do click and she does so not click with AA ... my (bad) gut-feeling was right, I think.

P made my day and took away a lot of fear.
Whilst I panicked that AA will be here only 2 1/2 weeks I now think I cannot wait for that to happen ...
Think the first few weeks in such a huge company are always frightening and chaotic.
And all the new programs etc etc...

I once heard my voice and I don't like how it sounds, it is so 'flat', while some people have beautiful 'musical' voices.

Yes, funny how we hear ourselves so different through the bone.

Funny sign in the van, I certainly wouldn't associate an elephant with moving or cleaning, lol.
I don't like the sound of my voice either. Maybe it's just something we feel and others don't hear it the same way?
Jose says there's nothing wrong with my voice, so I have to believe him :)
Once Jose set up 2 monitors for me, as he's used to working that way and thought it would be great for me at home, but I couldn't get used to it, lol.

Yes, through the bone the voice sounds better, LOL.
What?! I don´t wanna miss my second monitor, so much easier to navigate.

...having an elephant move for you is interesting. I hope that your workplace problem are corrected soon. Take care Iris.

Tom, yes, Friday Ingo drives me to the plant with it all... better than an Elephant ;-)

I've occasionally heard the sound of my own voice played back and am convinced that's not how I sound.

Our voices always sound different to us on a recording. It's really jarring!

I'm glad you have P and I hope that will help in the transition. You'll get it. There are always bumps in the road at the beginning.

I always thought my voice sounded weird. Maybe that's how lots of people feel.

William, you do - and you even get used to it, strange as it is - I might(!) recognize my voice from external by now (still ugly).

____

Jeanie, yes to both!!! She saved me again today, technical and mentally-wise!

____

Bill, no. It´s just that we hear it through the bones and we do not, the knowledge doesn´t make it better, though!

Interesting to see it described as a "furniture taxi". In Australia the term "taxi truck" was often used but that is not as popular as it was.

I always heard it was a BULL in a china shop, but an elephant would be just as clumsy. Not my idea of a good name for a company.

Jim, that´s new to me too, taxi for this.

____

Elizabeth, a bull? Never heard that - a faster way to destroy things, I reckon! ;-)

No one really likes their own voice. I don't like mine either.
