Creative Mojo

I have some creative mojo back. I've been crocheting a bit more lately with some mini squares and a baby blanket for my cousin's new baby on the way.

The weather for late October has been so nice I got to do some crocheting outdoors.

I never tried cross stitch before but when I saw this pattern by @Helenphillipsdesigns after the Queen passed I had to try it.  Found this rainbow sticker of the Queen on Etsy.

I did learn not to cut the Aida too close to size as i had to alt some stitches to fit the material.

Then Helen Phillips came out with this next pattern and had to do this one as well.

Added a knitted pumpkin to my fall decor collection.

Late August spent some time outside with my girl.

The cats do love some outdoor time.  Mostly on the porch or in the stroller.

August was mostly hot and dry but did get a nice rainbow.

The garden is done for the year. We still have a few things out that are cold tolerant.
We got a lot of beans and try that green been casserole reciped with the cream soups and
french fried onions on top for the first time.

Pickled some of our peppers but we froze quite a bit of them to to add to dishes.

I got out for probably one of the last bike rides this weekend with our warmer weather
for late October.  Great time of year here as the colors on trees are superb.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Fall is Here

Happy Fall. I decorated my railing with my fall garland and crocheted leaves which I've
crocheted a few more to the collection.

I managed to add a few more rows of squares to this project. Slowly but surely, projects get done. Mostly based on timing and mood.

Like this project starburst blanket below.  I am finishing it for a donation auction to raise
money for my aunt's granddaughters robotics team. I am almost finished the last skein
of the Caron Cake. Looking back on pictures I believe I started it around March of 2017.

It's not easy with my new addition as he loves yarn, constantly pouncing on it
as I am trying to crochet.

I've manged a few pictures of all my fur babies together, this one being when I make
a lunch meat sandwich for hubby and they all want some.

And I love this one.

I recently go a new bed as it's been long overdue. A bit more firmness and soft top.

After getting my bed I saw this and it's completely applicable.

Finally Happy Thanksgiving fellow Canadians.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for us.
Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow and hubby and I will have our dinner today.
Cheers.

Unexpected Turns

Happy fall.  These are my few projects I've done recently for fall.

I've done a bit of knitting here and there.

Honey and I went on a day trip to an Antique/Flea market place.  We only had 2 hours to browse and when they announced they were closing, there still was another floor to see.

I got a doily and a vintage Vernor's pop bottle.  Vernors was a ginger ale produced in Detroit.

And a few pics of the kitties.

And on a sad note, my father passed away on Monday after almost 10 years with Alzheimer's / Dimentia.  There were trying times in the early stages trying to help my parent's who didn't want help or refused to believe there was anything wrong. My mother had a stroke during the early stages of his Alzheimer's so she wasn't able to pick up on the signs.
It's sad to see your parent deteriorate both physically and mentally. I know he wouldn't have
wanted to live like that and was a good thing it happened fairly quickly at the end.
I know he's at peace now.

RIP Daddy.

Fall has come

Long time no blog.
I seriously don't know where the days go.  Daily routines blur into weeks.
I have my 3 gym days a week, rest and chores in between. Work.
Life, gotta love it.

I have however gotten back some of my crochet knitting mojo. Maybe it's the season.  Fall weather does tend to inspire getting out the yarn and making something, anything.

Here's some projects I've been randomly working on.

Finished this baby blanket.

Finished a few more random granny squares.

I'm still working on this ripple blanket. Trying to keep going until I'm out of the colours.

Started a hat.

Scarf with super chunky yarn on my giant knitting kneedles.  This give you an arm workout.

And simple knit 2 purl 2 every two rows for a scarf.  I love the texture it makes.

With this nice cooler fall weather, honey and I have gone for a few good long bike rides.
This summer was so hot I was not able to go out for many rides.

But it's been nice to enjoy watching the trees change.  Canada's maples trees have beautiful colour changes.

The garden is pretty much done for the years.  We're still getting a few tomatoes.

We finally got some cucumbers as well.

And I can't forget my fur babies.

Have a great weekend all!!
