Poncho Finished

I finally finished my poncho.  I was going to make it longer but I ran out of the brown which I just had enough to do a single crochet round to finish it off.  And to get the edges to lay flat I just got a new iron with steaming ability and steamed the edges over a towel.

I'm slowing getting my crochet mojo back.  Maybe it's just a summer thing when we get too busy.

I've been busy getting my new feline friend accustomed to our home.
After Marma passed it left a void of a cuddly companion.  I do still have my other two cats but their not the cuddling kind.  We had been visiting the local Humane Society for about a month on the weekends.   There were a few contenders but I came to love this gorgeous girl.

She officially got her name tag, Pippa. I thinks she's feeling quite at home.

And the others are getting used to her.  She's a very vocal girl with a weird meow but we love her all the same.

Happy weekend all!!!

Poncho

I think I finish my poncho for my friend in record time.  Mind you it's not a full length poncho but it'll server it's purpose of keeping warm at work when the air conditioning is on.  She loves it.

And my honey finally hung my shadow box and a picture that was given to me after
my Marma's passing.

And the saying....

Now what to work on.  An WIP or start a new project.
Crochet ADD.

Happy weekend all!

Stash busting

I've been working on a few things, basically just to stash bust and a good way to do so is with grannies or granny stripes. It is yet to be determined what these will turn into.  Any suggestions?
Purse/Bag maybe.

I've also been back working on my poncho.  It is almost a suitable length to wear.

We went out for our first bike ride of the year, with my newly finished seat cover. I even got stopped by a compliment on it.

Happy Weekend all!

WIP Wednesday

I finally got around to taking pics of my works in progress. I think the star blanket above is nearly the size I want.  I think it'll be for mom for Christmas.  The neopolitan project on the left will be a shawl. The colours makes me want ice cream.

Poncho (top) is almost done.  The larger it gets the longer the rounds take and that's when the ADD kicks in.  And on the bottom are two cowls on the go.  Most like to sell in Etsy.

This delicious yarn I fell in love with at Michael's. So soft for an acrylic yarn.  I am hoping to make my first cable knit hat for my honey as the colours are masuline.

Well have a good week.

Conquer the Knit

Another long week flew by. Last weekend I started a knitting project.  I really want to master the knit as I believe I have with crochet.  I am just starting to decrease to finish off. I found a wonderful video You Tube to make a knit hat from Ruby Steadman.  I have found my preference for knitting is with circular bamboo needles. What is your preferred needles?

We've had gorgeous 60 degree weather here all week.  I went out for a few walks and spotted the first signs of fall.

I am still working on my poncho.  Slowly but surely.  As it grows it's taking longer to complete a row and my attention starts to wonder.

Here Comes Fall

It's been a long week, especially with some extra hours at work.I still managed to work on the poncho as it is getting there. Additional yarnhad to be purchased and when I went to the store they had put it away as it is a summer season weight yarn.  But they did manage to pull out what they had and got another skein of each colour and an extra of the brown.  I have just been randomizing the strippingas I go.  It is just getting past my shoulders now.

The temperature dropped to the 60's this week.
I had to even cover up with another project to keep warm.

Yesterday was International Crochet Day.  What did you work on?

I don't drink coke or colas much but I was in the store yesterday
and found my name on one of the bottles. Coke is doing the name
bottles currently and when I saw mine I had to grab one.

Happy weekend all!

Poncho Progress

Hope everyone had a great week.  It felt like a long week for me, working the holiday Monday
and my first week on afternoon shift in years.  This week I have started a new project with the
new yarnI got last week.  It is a nice light weight yarn perfect for a garment.  I wanted
something to wear at work when it gets chilly.  I've always wanted to make a poncho,
so a poncho it is. This Cascade Ultra Prima Cotton is so soft.

So what are you working on this weekend?
