Has our move toward a banana republic been scotched?

Clarice Feldman writes at American Thinker,
... as Scott Adams notes, the president has demolished the GOP and reconstituted it; the DNC lacks a leader and funds; the Clinton and Bush dynasties are over; the public has learned to distrust the media; the NFL ratings are down; the FBI leadership has lost all credibility, as have the pundits, nearly all of whom "were wrong about Trump's nomination, election, and successful (by Republican standards) first year"; federal government regulations are far fewer; Hollywood has alienated almost half its audience; North Korea's economy has gone from pathetic to even worse; ISIS has been largely defeated; and we bade adieu to the Paris Accord and the TPP.

As for the economy, the stock market is up, employment is up, and the upper Midwest economy is growing its fastest in three years.

I don't think any president in my memory has had such a consequential first year, and certainly none had the pathetic dossier and corrupt FBI and DOJ officials to contend with at the same time.

Crimes committed in America by non-citizens

I found out that Mark Steyn hosted the Tucker Carlson Tonight show last night, so I Googled it in order to post it on this blog. But Google brought me Tucker's show from the night before! Before I could change it to Mark, Tucker came on with a compelling monologue about crimes committed in America by non-citizens. The US Sentencing Commission reports that non-citizens commit 22% of all federal murder convictions, 18% of fraud, 33% of money laundering, 29% of drug trafficking, 72% of drug possession!
Here is the rest of Tucker's show.

Sessions, Tillerson, Gowdy, Kushner, Trump

McCain returns to the Senate to help the Republicans get a one vote majority in today's health care vote.

Trey Gowdy says Jeff Sessions doesn't work for the president. He works for the blindfolded woman holding a set of scales! He further characterized today's hearing in his committee as the Democrats cramming five minutes of questioning into 3 hours of questioning. Gowdy gave thumbs up to Jared Kushner's answers.

The US Navy fired warning shots at an Iranian vessel.

Trump is really unhappy with Jeff Sessions, who was one of the first politicians to support him. Trump questions even that, saying that Sessions saw 40,000 Alabamans showing up for a Trump rally, then jumped on the Trump train.

Tillerson is also taking a few days off at State, after some Trump criticism.

The media is trying to oust Trump, Trump's tactical brilliance, Sharyl Attkisson

Laura believes 95% of American media is trying to oust Trump!

Gordon Chang was a guest on the program. He does not believe either Russia or China can be counted on to help with North Korea. He thinks Trump is trying to prevent Russia and China from coalescing against us.

Chang is amazed at Trump's tactical brilliance. On Monday he had the prime minister of India to the White House. On Tuesday our government released a report categorizing China as one of the worst nations for human trafficking. On Thursday we took action to stop a bank from money laundering for North Korea. Also on Thursday we did a big arms sale with Taiwan. We also sailed closer than ever before to the disputed islands in the South China Sea.

A lot of work is going on regarding our southern border wall.

Trump told the South Korean president that the trade deficit has gotten worse every year, and that has to stop!

Trump has not removed any sanctions on Russia.

Sharyl Attkisson was a guest. She has a program on Sundays entitled Full Measure. I will listen to the podcast of last Sunday's show and report on it here.

Happy Birthday America

When even Hollywood loved America

hat tip The Conservative Treehouse, where Sundance writes,
Usually we humans can’t adequately find words to express our own sentiments, let alone those of a nation and successive generations to come, but Jefferson and that Continental Congress did just that.

The words have stood throughout several centuries as a clarion call for freedom, for breaking free of tyranny, for men to put aside their individual causes and join together to battle for the right of every man, woman and child together to become a people united in goal and resolve.

Today as we celebrate, today as we pledge allegiance to a flag that has gone from 13 stars to 50, may we remember not only the sacrifice, but the resolve. May we honor not only the words, but the unity and deeds of our forefathers. May each of us dig deep into our hearts and work out our differences for the betterment of our nation and our children and grandchildren.

Blaming the victims, buying a pass from student mobs, the Clintons

Tucker interviews "Democratic Strategist" Mustafa Tameez, who alleges Britain has not been hospitable enough to migrants. When Tucker calls him out for "blaming the victims," he shouts over Tucker to try to drown out what Tucker is saying.

University presidents and professors think they can buy a pass from student mobs at places like Evergreen State College.

Tucker presents a video of President Clinton's 1995 State of the Union address, showing how much the Democratic Party has changed.

Oh, and by the way, there is a new investigation of Hillary.

We're back in the 80s again, Trump dumps over the punch bowl of the beltway elites and globalists, Georgia Congressional race, Trump actually intends to make the US economically independent!

We're back in the 80s again, with attacks on our president similar to the attacks suffered by President Reagan. So it was fitting that Laura Ingraham had former Reagan advisor Pat Buchanan on as a guest on today's program.

Pat points out that in the Paris Climate Accord China and India were allowed to continue pouring out CO2 "to their heart's content." Pat says Donald Trump is creating a new world order in which countries are free to work in their own self-interest. Both Pat and Laura praised the political courage of Donald Trump in rejecting the Paris accord. Trump actually intends to make America economically independent! Under the previous "New World Order" supported by the Clintons and Bushes and Obama, nations were supposed to disappear in a global utopia.

Both Laura and Pat emphasized that, like Reagan, there are powerful groups and individuals who are out to bring Trump down. Pat points out that Nixon was also hated by the same Leftist groups and individuals, thereby giving him little margin of error. The same is true for Trump. JFK got away with women parading into and out of his office, LBJ made a huge personal fortune, Teddy Kennedy got away with Chappaquiddick. For some reason the Left and neoconservatives want us to have bad relations with Russia.

Joe Scarborough and Mika sucked up to Trump during the primaries for ratings, now they oppose him for ratings. Either they were wrong in the primaries, or they are wrong now. Joe is also trying to play Steve Bannon against Trump, using the term "President Bannon."

Trump has pulled back the curtain, showing how close the Bushes and Clintons are.

Millions of dollars are pouring into Georgia in the special election. Early voting is happening now. Karen Handel is the Republican candidate. John Ossoff is the Democratic candidate. There is a debate there at 8 pm EST on June 6. Karen Handel was a guest on Laura's program, and she talked about the vicious tactics of the Left, the "Resistance." She is a former County Commissioner and Secretary of State. Her 30-year-old opponent has no comparable experience, and does not even live in the district!

Watch out for those Macedonians!

Mark Steyn observes, President Trump may be the most qualified person ever to become president, even though he had never before held any previous elected office!

Hillary says, whatever happens, the Russians are behind it...and behind them are the Macedonians!

A judge orders removal of undercover videos exposing callousness of abortion providers. YouTube and Twitter also remove the videos.

We are no longer on the side of Iran, Russia, and Syria's Asaad, Hillary is still trying to blame everyone but herself for the election, Evergreen College in Washington state is the new hotbed of campus craziness, Mike Rowe is advocating that young people learn a skill that is actually in demand, and a woman in California wants to marry a train station!

Charles Krauthammer celebrates the fact that because of Donald Trump, eight years of appeasement of Iran has ended! Trump spoke to 50 Sunni nations in Saudi Arabia. We are no longer on the side of Iran, Russia, and Syria's Asaad. Commerce is opening up between the US, Israel, other Sunnis nations, and maybe even the Palestinians!

Hillary is still trying to blame everyone but herself for the election.

Evergreen College in Washington state is the new hotbed of campus craziness. 50 students decided to disrupt professor Weinstein's class and imagine that he is a racist. Campus police showed up but were blocked by protesters. Police found another entrance, and the protesters disbursed to the office of the college president, Dr. Bridges. He is allowing the mob to control the campus since Tuesday morning. He told the police to stand down, and they are barricaded in the campus police station.

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher is the Chairman of a committee in the House of Representatives that oversees our relations with Russia and Europe. He is being accused of having sinister relations with Russia. He has never taken a penny of donations from any Russian, unlike Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have taken millions, and given away 20% of US uranium to a Russian.

Mike Rowe is advocating that young people learn a skill that is actually in demand! We need to change the way "alternate" education like tech school is viewed so that it is not viewed as "subordinate." There are 5.6 million available jobs going unfilled!

Lastly, there is a woman in the San Diego area who is in love with the Santa Fe train station there. She travels 45 minutes every day to be with her lover, and plans to marry the train station.

Jesus forgave, "principled realism," we have a 64 billion dollar trade deficit with Germany, Germany has not paid its NATO obligations, murderous attack on Christian children and their mothers in Egypt

A pregnant girl who is a straight A student at the Heritage Academy in Maryland is not being allowed to graduate. She is choosing life for her baby. Jesus forgave. Heritage Academy: not so much!

For 70 years American taxpayers have been footing the bill for the defense of 23 out of the 28 NATO countries. Trump's foreign policy of "principled realism" is saying this injustice must end! He also told the 54 Sunni nations gathered in Saudi Arabia that they need to save their own countries from the radical Islam being taught in their madrassas.

Laura is excited about what Trump has done on this trip.

We have a 64 billion dollar trade deficit with Germany!

Today there was a murderous attack on a busload of Christian children and their mothers in Egypt. The jihadists forced everyone out of the bus, then shot them dead.

Before Rex Tillerson was confirmed as Secretary of State, Trump utilized Jared Kushner to deal with foreign countries. So now he is being called "a person of interest" by the investigators. He has said he will gladly cooperate with any investigation.

Jeff Sessions has vowed to prosecute leakers.

Former CIA chief Jim Woolsey believes holdover Obama political appointees in intel agencies are the ones leaking.

All you need is guts!

All you need is love? Greg Gutfeld suggests all you need is guts! The Five praised Bono for speaking out.

Libya has taken into custody the Manchester bomber's father and brother. Did the terrorist's father send his son to die? The terrorist who made the bomb is still at large!

Is it time for all police in the UK to carry guns?

Do you know who pays their fair share in NATO? Only the US, UK, Poland, Greece and Estonia!

"The media cannot accept that we elected a cat, not a dog. They scream when he refuses to fetch!"

The Greg Gutfeld Show is just getting better and better. Greg opens with a politician who says, "It's gonna take a long time." That is followed by a human, who says terrorists are "sneaky, dirty rats."

Greg says the media cannot accept that we elected a cat, not a dog. They scream when he refuses to fetch!

Greg says, behind closed doors maybe Trump leaned on Comey. In other countries behind closed doors, they strangle you with dental floss!

So it's war, Mean Girls style! Day after day the media invents new petty outrages. Trump is combative, but the media prefers fighting anonymously.

Former pro wrestler and Snoop Dog bodyguard Tyrus does a very funny skit in which he pretends to be the White House Press Secretary.

Dismantling the tin foil hats

Highlight of this Hannity Show: Mark Levin! Mark's segment begins at the 9:40 mark in the video.

I also was impressed with Special Assistant to the President Sebastian Gorka who begins at about the 29-minute mark.

Jay Sekulow explains the bipartisan support for Rod Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General who recommended that Trump fire Comey.

Should Comey be fired, should Austrian women wear headscarves in unity with Muslim refugees, should female circumcision be as widely practiced in the US as male circumcision, should schools get rid of books?

On Tucker Carlson'show last night, a lot of interesting topics were explored. Up first was FBI Director James Comey, who got quite emotional in his testimony before Congress. Attorney Joe Digenova said Comey should be fired, because his July 5, 2016, testimony before Congress usurped the function of prosecutors. The Department of Justice staff were afraid to contradict Comey. Does Comey have a political agenda? DiGenova says no, but he thinks Comey sees himself as the most righteous man in the world.

In Austria, their president suggests that all women should wear headscarves in unity with Muslim women.

An anthropologist came on to debate Tucker on Female Genital Mutilation. She said that what is being done on little girls is not even as invasive or intense as male circumcision. Tucker seemed uncomfortable even discussing the issue, but the anthropologist said in "our culture we do not discriminate," meaning that they circumcise both girls and boys. She said that although a female doctor in Michigan is accused of female genital mutilation, what actually happened was just a "nick" in the foreskin of the clitoris. However, in the US, parents take their baby boys in to get the entire foreskin removed! Tucker was mainly objecting to the fact that little girls have no power in the matter. The anthropologist claimed that there are 100 deaths each year from male circumcisions.

Finally, there is a school in New York City that is getting rid of all their books! This is a school in which only 9 percent of students in the 6th-8th grades pass the state's English test! The principal referred to books as "ancient relics." Yet, the school does not have enough computers to replace the books.

"Sanctuary workplaces," MS13 gang continues their gruesome violence, French elections, female genital mutilation, robotics

Tucker's first guest last night was an Oakland, Ca. City Councilman who had difficulty looking into the camera. Oakland's City Council has told the city's employers to be "sanctuary workplaces" and not report immigration violations.

Meanwhile, the MS13 gang who came to California from El Salvador, Guatamala, and Honduras, continue to commit gruesome crimes all across the country. The most recent murders were in Suffolk County, New York, near Long Island. A police commissioner there came on the program and alleged that MS13 is a bigger threat than ISIS! They prey on younger, vulnerable people, many of whom are here without parental guidance.

Other topics covered included poking fun at MSNBC, the French elections, and two more arrested in Michigan for female genital mutilation.

Mark Cuban says computers are becoming prescriptive, creating new answers. Hardest hit will be people whose jobs are repetitive. He says America is not in the lead in robotics, but should be! He didn't say who is ahead.

The Russians are coming, Sanctuary Cities, opioid catastrophe, voter i.d. laws, and what to do about Assad

On last night's Tucker Carlson show Tucker continued his tradition of inviting people on the show who are espousing ridiculous (but popular with Democrats and the media) views. Tucker is still trying to get Democrats to admit that their "Russians colluded with Trump" story of the 2016 election is unsubstantiated. His first guest was a senior member of the foreign relations committee in Congress, a Democrat from California. He admits that it is the goal of Democrats is to get Trump to "bend over backwards" and prove to us that he is not colluding with Russians.

Tucker brings on Katie Hopkins of the Daily Mail, one of my favorites. Katie asks, if you get rid of Assad, then what? He is secular and has been protecting Christians. All of his enemies are Islamists, who will certainly not protect Christians.

His next guest is co-founder of Queen's Law and Associates. She is upset because, while Mayor De Blasio says NYC is a sanctuary city, the NYPD is notifying ICE when illegals have court dates, after committing crimes. Tucker asks her if she had been the one who was raped on the subway by an illegal immigrant, would she feel differently? She answered that this is not about individual cases; she just wants the NYPD and Mayor to be on the same side: the sanctuary city side.

Next, Tucker tackled the issue of voter i.d. laws. His guest was a woman from Texas who claimed that having a voter i.d. requirement discriminates against black and latino citizens. Tucker pointed out that people are required to have voter i.d. to get government benefits, a gun, a job, a checking account, to register their kids for school, so why not to vote? Whose fault is it if someone forgets to bring their i.d. to the polling place?

Tucker continued his week-long series on America's heroin epidemic. In one poor county in Kentucky, Clay County, it was found that 140 doses of synthetic heroin had been prescribed for every man, woman, and child in Clay county. Medicaid pays for these prescriptions. A Brandeis professor said that the problem is physicians overprescribing (money, money, money). He said the bulk of prescribing is for people complaining of chronic pain conditions, rather than the way it used to be, which was for end-of-life or post-surgery pain.

Chick-Fil-A once donated to a group that opposed gay marriage. Some people at Duquesne University are trying to prevent Chick-Fil-A from opening a restaurant on their campus.

Someone just made Tillerson's job a whole lot more difficult

At the Last Refuge, Sundance analyzes the latest from AP.
The Associated Press is reporting a story from a “Senior U.S. Official” stating the U.S. has evidence the Russian military knew in advance of the Chemical Weapon attack in Syria last week.

Beyond the headline and vague sourcing for the claim, this AP report is stunning on multiple levels. Why would a “senior U.S. official” release such a controversial statement/story just 36 hours before Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is scheduled to arrive in Russia?

Obviously anyone with any degree of diplomatic understanding would know this leak would be seriously controversial with T-Rex about to meet Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and possibly Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.

Is T-Rex being set up? Or is this leak part of a U.S. strategy? Either option is entirely possible.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior U.S. official says the United States has concluded that Russia knew in advance of Syria’s chemical weapons attack last week.

The official says a Russian-operated drone flew over a hospital in Syria as victims of the attack were rushing to get treatment.

Hours after the drone left, a Russian-made fighter jet bombed the hospital in what American officials believe was an attempt to cover up the usage of chemical weapons.

Until Monday, U.S. officials had said they weren’t sure if the drone was operated by Russia or Syria. The senior official said it still wasn’t clear who was flying the jet that bombed the hospital.

The official said the presence of the drone couldn’t have been a coincidence, and that Russia must have known the chemical weapons attack was coming and that victims were seeking treatment.

The official wasn’t authorized to speak publicly on intelligence matters and demanded anonymity. (read more)

QUESTIONS (Possibilities):

♦ Is T-Rex being set up?

♦ Is a deep state operative to blame? (Orchestrated U.S. -vs- Russia conflict)

♦ Is a compromised official (under Russian influence) within the U.S. intelligence community behind such a statement? (Undermining President Trump)

♦ Is a pro-leftist (Hillary State Dept. type) trying to trip up T-Rex? (revenge for State Department budget cuts)

♦ Is this “leak” a strategy from the White House? (Possible, but if so; the White House had better make sure they are confident in Tillerson’s capability to get through this minefield.)

It is possible, this is part of a strategy; but *whiskey*tango*foxtrot* – good Lord that’s a ton of diplomatic pressure just put on to the shoulders of Secretary Tillerson.

And if that’s the strategy, they’d better damn sure had prior T-Rex approval for the ‘leaked story of evidence’ approach, or else T-Rex would be justified in shredding some people upon return until they discovered who set him up like that.

For now, I’m going to go on the assumption that Secretary Tillerson knew this was coming; because if he didn’t, well, that’s a pretty darned disconcerting scenario.

Wow. These ramifications are bigger than most can fathom.

Rush Limbaugh podcast April 7, 2017

Here is Rush Limbaugh's podcast from Friday, April 7. It's the day when Rush takes a lot of phone calls: "open line Friday." He particularly wanted to take calls from Trump supporters who were not happy about Trump's actions in Syria. His impression of Trump when he has spent a little time with Trump is that although Trump is a good listener, he does not do so from indecision. Rush's view of Trump is that he is very high energy and decisive.
