Biden’s campaign (like Clinton’s) has moved to the left of the Barack Obama and Bill Clinton administrations.Read more here.
Biden is hostile to fracking, amenable to ninth-month government-funded abortions, eager to raise taxes to the highest levels since Ronald Reagan, and fond of green energy policies that are producing electricity blackouts in high-tech California.
What he’s unwilling to say has been significant as well. Just as broadcast networks and CNN have portrayed Black Lives Matter demonstrations as “mostly peaceful,” even when fires rage in the background, Biden and other Democrats made no mention whatever, much less a denunciation, of violent rioting at their virtual national convention last month. That, even though, as an academic study revealed, there have been some 570 violent riots in 220 cities and towns since late May.
After the Republicans’ virtual convention and after polling showed public concern, Biden suddenly broke his silence on rioting, blaming right-wing extremists but not the more numerous antifa terrorists. Of course, no reporter, in the brief period the Biden campaign has allowed the candidate to be questioned, has brought up the subject.
...We’re at knife’s edge for the eight weeks until Election Day and maybe for weeks after that.

We're at knife's edge
In the Washington Examiner, Michael Barone writes in part,
Sunday, August 30, 2020
"In 2020 it is the Democrats who should lose big."
In Behind the Black, Robert Zimmerman writes in part,
Biden is only the figurehead. It is the body of the now very corrupt, anti-American, and radical Democratic Party that must be killed, thoroughly and at all levels, including the House, the Senate, and in every state, city, and local council election.Read it all here.
...Above all, don’t be afraid to vote for an unfamiliar name. Voting for incumbents at the local levels in urban Democratic strongholds is one of the reasons we are now where we are, with local Democratic Party political leaders endorsing rioting and violence while calling for the shuttering of police departments, even as they simultaneously call for strict gun control laws that will disarm all ordinary law-abiding citizens.
These Democrat local leaders have even made it a point — in their fear of COVID-19 — to release thousands of criminals from prison (many of which were convicted for violent crimes), even as they imposed strict house arrests on the general law-abiding public while shutting down religious gatherings and bankrupting legal businesses.
...Should Trump and the Republicans win nationwide in November, and then fail to bring major sweeping changes in Washington and elsewhere in the next four years, then maybe after a crushing defeat in 2020, a renewed Democratic Party in 2024 will give Americans a new option, and should then, and only under those conditions, be given a second chance.
...Either way, in 2020 it is the Democrats who should lose big. They have become a party of power-hungry criminals, of corrupt bureaucrats working to overthrow the government, of looters and rioters, of illegal immigrants, of lock downs and masks, and finally of economic bankruptcy because they are touting socialism and communism as our future, ideologies that have always failed whenever tried.

"Three months of chaos - and that's without China's bubonic bonus."
Mark Steyn writes,
October Surprise? Looks like we're gonna need a bigger face mask:
Panic has swept across China's Inner Mongolia province after a second bubonic plague lockdown was enforced, two days after the first, as whole villages are sealed off.
That's usually accompanied, as in Wuhan, with express check-in for flights to international destinations. If you're at Gate 23 at Bayannur International Airport, do let us know how the priority boarding for Milan and New York is going.
~A distinguished "bipartisan" group - ie, Democrats like John Podesta and Jennifer Granholm and anti-Trumpers like former RNC chair Michael Steele - has gamed out various scenarios for November 3rd and the weeks and months of chaos that will inevitably follow. Oddly, the scenario they don't game out is the one that's most likely: A narrow Trump victory (while losing the popular vote, as Republicans have for the last three decades with the exception of 2004).
As I said last Tuesday, the phony-baloney polls are tightening. They've since tightened further - to below six-and-a-half per cent. When they get to four, Trump wins: That's a cautious estimate of closeted Trump support based on last time round. Given four years of industrial-strength denigration of Trump's voters by media, academe, showbiz and all other cultural levers, it would not be un-cautious to estimate the undercount at five per cent - at least until the bubonic plague shows up.
Another two penn'orth from me: The GOP seems more likely to retain the White House and lose the Senate. If Trump goes down, Mitch goes with him and the Dems will have total control.
~But there is not going to be a Biden landslide. The media are doing their best to protect him, as they did with FDR by artfully avoiding showing his wheelchair. The problem is that Joe's wheelchair is his mouth, and that's a little harder to keep round the back of the podium for another three months. Democrats bet on #BLM to serve as the enervated Joe's livelier proxy, enthusing the base in a way that Corn Pop war stories and threats to beat up coeds do not. But CHOP is a flop. There are people who support Seattle/Portland-style anarchy because they like anarchy; there are others who support anarchy if it damages Trump. The latter are bailing. This New York Times story is a not so subtle attempt to turn the narrative:
SEATTLE — Faizel Khan was being told by the news media and his own mayor that the protests in his hometown were peaceful, with "a block party atmosphere."
But that was not what he saw through the windows of his Seattle coffee shop. He saw encampments overtaking the sidewalks. He saw roving bands of masked protesters smashing windows and looting.
Young white men wielding guns would harangue customers as well as Mr. Khan, a gay man of Middle Eastern descent who moved here from Texas so he could more comfortably be out.
You thought it was just geriatric country-club Republicans with white privilege who were hung up on outmoded concepts like private property? No, no, no: it's vibrant Middle Eastern gays, so you guilt-ridden white liberals no longer need feel queasy about not being entirely on board with total societal collapse. The Times wouldn't be rushing reporters out to unearth such typical examples of the put-upon Seattle business community as Mr Khan if it weren't necessary for a favorable November outcome. For upscale progressives, voting is virtue-signaling: Mayor DeBlasio says all the right things about Muslims and transgenders and none of it affects me in the least, so what's not to like? Unfortunately for New Yorkers, he's decided to take all the #BLM codswallop seriously and, just in case the economic, social and cultural wasteland made by the lockdown weren't enough, random Upper West Side ladies are now getting stabbed on the streets:
The broadcast networks were disinclined to show that rather vivid clip.
Steve Sailer says we're back to the Seventies - except we're not, because all the Death Wish vigilantes have moved to the red states: like most large western cities, New York has bifurcated into rich people and the poor immigrants who wait on them. So there's not a lot of Paul Kerseys-in-waiting between you and the stabber. Many urban sophisticates are going to have decide whether they wish to sacrifice themselves on the altar of their own moral preening. On the evidence to date, quite a few seem willing to. But enough to ensure a Biden presidency?
Hence that heartwarming story about gay immigrant Muslim coffee-shop proprietors struggling in the face of Class of Whenever trustiefundie psychotranny mobs: the Times has concluded that "mostly peaceful protests" have outlived their usefulness.
~There should be opportunities for Trump here - and at least a possibility of a clear runaway GOP victory "beyond the margin of lawyer", as I used to say back in the Bush days. In 1984 Reagan added just shy of ten points to his 1980 score because, having lived for four years with the guy the left damned as an extreme right-wing Bedtime for Bonzo nuclear madman, a significant chunk of the American people concluded that he was not his caricature. That's unlikely to happen this time - and not just because Trump seems to enjoy his particular caricature, but because Reagan's America no longer exists and is instead a demographically transformed ruin of mutually hostile tribalisms. At heart, even the hardest of hardcore MAGA optimists knows this will be a close race: As I put it a few weeks back, all we can say for certain about November 3rd is that on November 3rd we will be able to say nothing certain. Round about 8.47pm the networks will fill with a parade of bigshot Dems insisting that we need to "count every vote" and "if they're so convinced they've won, what are Republicans afraid of?"
It is entirely possible (and indeed rather likely) that Trump will win "election day" - that is to say, the in-person votes of those who wander along on a Tuesday to their town halls and school gyms - and that Biden will win the postal votes stretched out between mid-September and whenever the last envelope postmarked November 3rd finally shows up in the mail. Which is unknowable. Which is the point. Which is why the Democrat machine favors such a system.
So, a little after all those calls to "count every vote", the "mostly peaceful protests" will come roaring back, to be followed by court challenges to the same judges who've spent the last four years striking down "Muslim bans" and DACA stays. Three months of chaos - and that's without China's bubonic bonus.

"Democrats are assuming that with full control of the media, they can convince people that all this is Trump’s fault."
William L. Gensert writes in part in the American Thinker,
For the first time in the history of plague and pandemic, we decided to quarantine the healthy -- something that would have been unimaginable a short time ago.Read more here.
The rioting, combined with the damage to lives, careers and wealth done by the lockdowns, all the arson, looting and destruction of property, and the ruination of the economy is meant to give the King of Aphasia, Joe Biden the opportunity to run against Trump’s lousy economy and riots. And now, closed schools as well.
...Democrats are assuming that with full control of the media, they can convince people that all this is Trump’s fault. And if they can keep the election close enough, they can steal it with illegal voting, illegals voting, and illegally stealing votes -- that’s why they are now questioning, with frightening synchronicity, whether Trump will leave office when he loses, while simultaneously warning that it will take weeks to count the votes (they’re loading their car trunks with “lost ballots” as we speak).
The Democrats have created an agglutination of economy-killing lockdowns; closed schools; property-destroying, sanguinary riots; electoral fraud; and media calumny and lies. All to be used against a president who was virtually guaranteed reelection mere months ago.
...It is one thing to ruin the lives of adults over something political but another entirely to do it to children. The saddest part of it all is they just might succeed.

It's all about November 3!
In American Greatness, Roger Kimball wrote in part,
The Democrats thought they could ride the tiger to victory. Instead, they will be consumed by the monster they created but could not control.Read more here.
...And what about the malignant nonsense that is Black Lives Matter? How did that happen? How is it that celebrities, major corporations, and tony schools and colleges experienced simultaneous multiple paroxysms of woke self-abasement because a lowlife career criminal with serious cardiac problems died in police custody? How do you go from an arrest in Minneapolis to the desecration of the Lincoln Memorial, the looting and burning of businesses across the country, and a regime of racially based (and racially biased) communal penance?
...almost everything happening in our society—all the craziness, all the posturing, all the distracting noise, exaggeration, and downright mendacity—all of it is not about itself but about something else, and that something else is Donald Trump.
A new, flu-like virus is abroad in the land. The anti-Trump establishment goes to work: How can we blame it on Trump? He shuts down flights from China at the end of January: charge him with being racist and xenophobic. He consults experts. They tell him it is not a serious threat. He goes on television and says that: hysteria! Then he swings into action, mobilizes American manufacturing prowess and turns out more ventilators, protective gear, testing kits, and new therapies than anyone thought possible. The curve flattens. The political weapon that was COVID-19 falters. No problem. Declare a race war! Smash up the storefronts. Get everybody talking about racism all the time. Ignore the fact that the people overwhelmingly harmed by Black Lives Matter are inner-city blacks. Blame everything on Donald Trump.
But it’s more than that. The forces of anti-Trump hatred comprise not just Democratic aspirants to high office but also, and more significantly, the media (social and otherwise), the spoiled, pajama-boy Left, and—above all, perhaps—the entrenched administrative apparatus of government, the self-engorging bureaucracy of the state whose fundamental allegiance is to the principle of self-perpetuation.
...And just about now, a great chasm is opening up. The choice, they see, is not so much between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. It is between the America they love—that Donald Trump celebrates—and the out-of-control forces of anti-American hatred that, though he does not understand them, Joe Biden manages to blink and nod and gibber around.
I nominate Victor Davis Hanson to be White House Policy Director!
In American Greatness, Victor Davis Hanson writes in part,
...In truth, the media, the universities, and the Left by weaponizing plague, lockdown and riot had found a winning strategy. The mere threat of being called a “racist” in such a Reign of Terror climate could win over unlikely allies, abettors, and appeasers. Corporate America, the retired and serving four-star officer class, local and state government apparatchiks, and many terrified Republican politicians and pundits (hoping to be dismembered last by leftist wolverines) began pledging their allegiance to the Left or staying mum.Read more here.
...Suddenly, American CEOs shined the sneakers of rappers, on video no less. There were to be “black” and “white” national anthems played at NFL games. “Diversity training” would be rebooted as segregated white reeducation sessions in full Maoist style. In New York, all protests were dangerous to public health, except those of Black Lives Matter, as if the virus was political in its targeting.
...What then was Trump to do? Three things.
Defend America
Trump already is starting to do the first superbly: stand up for America prior to May 25 (when George Floyd was killed), and tell Americans that in this 244th year of their existence, they will not cowardly renounce their heroes like Washington and Lincoln. Thomas Jefferson was not Jefferson Davis.
They will not topple statues, like frenzied Taliban, in the dead of night. They will not reduce their rich history and traditions to “racism.” And they will not embrace McCarthyism and destroy lives and careers.
But they will protect the Bill of Rights. They will honor dead Americans who bequeathed this current lucky generation the freest, the most secure, and the most prosperous nation in history.
He might also remind the country that the United States is the beacon of freedom and anti-racism. Try naturalizing as a black citizen in China or South Korea. Try to become a white Christian citizen of Pakistan. Try living as a Catholic Latino in Saudi Arabia. Try opening a private roadside canteen in Cuba or Venezuela. Try founding a Jewish or Buddhist temple or evangelical church in Iran or Turkey. Try dealing with the police in Somalia or Sudan. Try rallying against illegal immigration, radical Islam, the European Union, or wind and solar power in Germany.
A Contract, A Plan, A Blueprint
Second, Trump cannot just talk of his pre-virus administration. He can of course remind Americans that he knows how to resume the booming economy as the virus wanes. He is right to remind us that he did close the border and is now making good progress on the wall. Given China’s culpability, he is justified in reminding the country that his lone voice was prescient in warning of the multifarious dangers emanating from the Chinese Communist Party. He did deregulate and expand our energy resources. All that by 2021 will help restore prosperity.
But that is now, unfortunately, ancient history for a terrified public assuming a fetal position in the face of a public health threat. The swing voters, independents, and purple-staters are framing their 2020 choice in the stark terms of who will “make it all go away.” They want a magical end to the virus, the quarantines, the violence, the hate, and the division. And at this point, they want near-divine interventions to do all that and more.
But in November, less than four months from now, rightly or wrongly, they will see their choices both rationally and emotionally.
...A far better alternative is to diversify our demography and to reboot smaller cities and towns, along with reconnecting to rural living. America’s small towns are underpopulated, while big cities of plague, protests, and panic are overpopulated, overpriced, and overpopularized. We could start by ensuring rural spaces high-speed internet (still unavailable as I can attest in the rural center of supposedly high-tech California), a repair of our crumbling interstate freeway system, and completion of the long-planned highways, reservoirs, bridges and transmission lines that were canceled over the last 50 years in the elite green-era madness of “small is beautiful.”
...Trump need not be cruel but remind the country that Joe Biden is not really a candidate. He is a wraith, a specter. Trump must remind America he is not running any more against even the facsimile of Biden, but rather against an entire socialist cultural revolution—a pirate ship with Joe Biden no more than its carven wooden figurehead.
Restoration 2021
...In truth, he needs to eschew “I” and substitute “we.” A record low percent black unemployment rate? That translated into job seekers having leverage over employers and with it dignity and value. Gas prices falling due to expanded oil production? That means the minimum wage worker can afford her commute. Returning industry? That means more clout, honor, and a good living for an unemployed middle-aged worker in Ohio and Michigan, and less fuel for the Chinese Communist Party.
Tweeting cannot be about the past, but only the present and future. Trolls, washed-up celebrities, know-nothing pampered athletes, and hack leftists don’t deserve mention in the campaign’s final 100 days.
Ignore them all and focus on Restoration, 2021—and how the president has a detailed plan to focus on all classes and races, while reminding us of what we owe the dead and all that they have given us.

….got too frisky or out of line, they would quickly come down on them, hard – didn’t know what hit them. The front line was replaced with fresh agents, like magic. Big crowd, professionally organized, but nobody came close to breaching the fence. If they had they would….
….have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That’s when people would have been really badly hurt, at least. Many Secret Service agents just waiting for action. “We put the young ones on the front line, sir, they love it, and….
….good practice.” As you saw last night, they were very cool & very professional. Never let it get out of hand. Thank you! On the bad side, the D.C. Mayor, @MurielBowser, who is always looking for money & help, wouldn’t let the D.C. Police get involved. “Not their job.” Nice!”

A House Divided
In the Ace of Spades blog, JJ Sefton writes in part in his Morning Report,
Now more than ever, I'm struck by the fact that America's greatest attribute - its freedom - has always been its Achilles heel. Our enemies, both foreign and domestic know it. For well over a century if not really since the beginning of the republic (FYI, in 1789, not 1619), they have used it to gradually, and now seemingly all at once to destroy us from within. It warms the cockles of the heart to see Shelly Luther refuse to kneel before a hack-in-black demagogue and kiss his ring, and now 77-year-old Michigan barber Karl Manke tell Whitmer and her attack bitch Dana Nessel to FOAD. But the willingness for the citizenry of places like California, New York and Washington to just go along is frightening. Whether its Trump derangement, an ingrained Leftist mindset to trust government and fear freedom, which is the essence of American culture that they were taught to despise, and the concomitant hatred for real America which cherishes the latter and elected the former, or some combination of both, they are positively gleeful at what is happening to their fellow citizens, not realizing that it ultimately will happen to them. You can thank 50 years of brainwashing in the schools for that.Read more and click on his links here.
We are a house divided. That's half of the equation required for divide and conquer. I believe we have reached the point where as some commenters are wont to quip "we are not voting our way out of this." If Trump should G-d forbid lose in November, it will be lights out America for sure. If he wins, which I believe he will even in the face of all of this no matter who his opponent will be, things could get very ugly and very quickly. Regardless of the outcome of November, I have come to the conclusion that with very few exceptions, every branch of government, the bureaucracy and the institutions we rely on to keep us safe are so completely corrupted and beholden to the Counter-American Revolution that elections really will not matter any more. The actions of Emmet Sullivan, along with that of Obama, Comey, Brennan, Clapper and all the rest make it painfully obvious.
Despite perhaps as much as a third of the population not standing with us, I have postulated that we are ripe for that moment when as in 2010 when a fed-up Tunisian shopkeeper decided to immolate himself and touched off the so-called "Arab Spring." Obviously, the politics of that situation are way different, but as a metaphor/parallel, perhaps that shopkeeper is Karl Manke. Already, a large group of citizens interposed themselves and the authorities to prevent them from shutting him down. With the war of words escalating between the governor and AG and him, things could get interesting in Owosso, and from there, who knows?
This situation is intolerable. I think the President is doing all he can, given the situation he is in. But this is one battle that he can't fight for us. We are going to have to fight this battle ourselves, for whatever definition of the word "fight" may be applicable. Mass, peaceful civil disobedience is my preferred choice. If G-d forbid it turns out to be that other thing, it will not be us who fire the first shot. But in the end, it only matters who fires the last one.
Lift the lockdowns. Liberate America.

Flatten those curves!
From Oregon Muse:
We've been told that we need to "flatten the curve" before we can reopen the country. We were told that we don't want to overwhelm our country's healthcare system.REad more here.
But I think we've done this. In fact, many hospitals that have geared up for a covid-19 rush are nearly empty and are laying off staff.
But now, suddenly, it's different. Now we're being told that we can't reopen the country until we get widespread testing. And when you ask them how much is widespread, the response is always more than we have now.
Soon it will be we can't reopen the country until everybody gets tested.
Coming up:
We can't reopen the country until there are no new cases
We can't reopen the country until we have an infallible vaccine
We can't reopen the country until Luke Skywalker and his plucky band of rebels destroy the Death Star
We can't reopen the country until Marshall Dillon marries Miss Kitty
We can't reopen the country until Jerry Lewis releases his 'The Day the Clown Cried' movie to the public.
We can't reopen the country until the return of Halley's Comet.
We can't reopen the country until Arthur returns as the rightful king of England
But ultimately it all boils down to:
We can't reopen the country until Joe Biden becomes President.
A lot of what makes progressives so progressive is that they progressively move the goalposts all over the field. While insisting that where they've just moved them is where they've been all the time. This seems to be a progressive trait. Whenever I see the goalposts being moved around like the Queen of Hearts in a 3-card Monte hustle, I know progressives have staked an interest in the outcome. In this case, it's to see how much damage can be done to President Trump's re-election. They do not consider the bankrupting of this country a price too high to pay to accomplish this.
