A bicycle can't stand alone.... because it is to tired.

A boiled egg is hard to beat.

When you have seen one shopping center, you have seen a mall.

Canine Christmas-Big Guys

Meet Her Royal Highness, Ivy. I am mailing this pic to her mommy.

This is the third dog I wanted.. He was at the Pit Bull Rescue... they said he is a Mini Pit Mix..... When he heard that he howled with laughter.

Can you tell I love The Big Guy Dogs?

These are the four I would have taken home if I could, My Choice from the 100 there... all four age 2 to 3 years old..every dog I have had since I was 8 was a rescue. And if you want pedigreed, there is a rescue out there for every breed.

I am doing a HAPPY DANCE.... My DSLR is up and running, I bought a new HD SanDisc card and it is back in working order. no repairs needed.

Canine Christmas - Rich's Choice

This is my friend Rich, we have been friends for 6 years and have a love of dogs in common. He is also my Photo Shop Professor and a big part of my blog because of all the things he taught me...

He loves all dogs, as do I, but the loves of his life, are the ones he has owned over the years. We both got "lots of Lovin" at the Canine Christmas Festival.

Little dogs like these are high on his love list.. Rich these are all for YOU ...

With Husky's and German Shepherds right up there at the top of his list... we have attended the Festival every year since 2009..

See that tiny little dog... each time he snarled at the Shepherd, she jumped back like it could swallow her instead of the other way around.. Made for good laughs.

Canine Christmas 2014 - Fun Zone

Along came a sleigh pulled ridden in by two tiny rein-dogs.
As they passed by Rich and MadSnapper they yelled
barked Come To The Fun Zone

We raced walked to the DogGone Funcourse where the fun was about to begin. 10.00 for a few times around the obstacle course, chasing a white rabbit thingy... Photographers recorded the fun and the photos were 5 dollars or FREE if you liked his Facebook page.

The dogs loved it, we loved it, the laughter was good for the soul when some of them jumped the fence and ran wild...

Rich had his own seat, I claimed a bale of hay, which was very comfy.. I only got one action shot because my new little red camera is not my DSLR long lens.

The Spectators were easier prey for the Pawparazzi with the tiny camera

LOOK! did you see that?

Well? Did you see THAT?

I don't think she is watching the fun, she has that silly red thing aimed at me.
(Mutant Lab up for adoption and I wanted him toooo)

Please daddy, can we run that course?

As for Me, I like to watch and I love to get my photo taken, see that smile?

Canine Christmas- Dewey

Dewey is up for adoption..  my favorite of the day.. He was the donation dog with pockets on his costume for money. YES.. I did put money in his pocket.. I am praying someone will adopt him soon.

Hewey is at the Humane Society of Bradenton

The majority of the dogs up for adoption were adults from 3 to 7 years old

I urge you to forget about your self and think about the dogs when adopting.

We adopted Cooper (see Cooper HERE) when he was 7. He was suffering from Kennel stress, in a no kill shelter, but there for a year..We gave him 6 more happy years and joy for us.

Dewey says please someone come and get me

There were 100 dogs at the Festival that were up for adoption. The Festival is held at Bishop Animal SPCA each year. A fund raiser and to raise awareness that there are thousands of dogs up for adoption in our county.

Bishop takes in all kinds of animals, such as the hedgehogs and ferrets it recently adopted
Bishop adopted seven dogs, eight cats and a guinea pig during the event, and by the end they would have around 50 adopted.

My Man Can Hear

My husband has worn hearing aids for 7 years, they stopped working 2 years ago. He refused to go for a hearing test until this week... His hearing is only a few decibels above legally deaf.

Tuesday morning, we came home with new hearing aids, computerized digital customized to his problems. Yes, they cost a LOT OF MONEY...

But.... The Man Can HEAR! Hallelujah!!! he is walking around saying "this house is noisy"   he can hear paper crinkle, brooms swish, refrigerator humming and Hallelujah again, the TV is set on 18 not 52...

I came home from a doctor visit and he met me at the door...

"I heard a plane, I heard a helicopter and a weed whacker... when I went to pour my coffee, I thought I was being attacked and turned around and it was my eggs frying"

there is one problem. Now he is back to making fun of my accent again. Think spider using 3 syllables...  he is back to mimicking every word I say.. and I say Thank you Lord...

Doc said he will have to retrain his brain to hear the words, that the left side of his brain is not talking to that ear and the way to train it is doing his homework, 3 pages of words, that each day I have to read 2 rows of them and he has to repeat them back... we laugh so much we can't breathe. each day he gets a little better.

the good thing is I am getting better at reading. When a person gets older, we stumble looking for the right word. the doc said we should read out loud to ourselves every day... and the more we do it the better trained our words will be.
it is working. when I am reading my kindle, I read a page out loud... at first I stumbled, now I don't.
Of course when I was reading out loud to myself in the examining room while waiting an hour, the people in the hall might have been thinking the person in there must be MAD....and I am MadSnapper

Studies of adult brain plasticity prove absolutely that repetitive auditory stimuli can change the way the brain operates... quote from Auditory Training manual
