Something to Giggle about

I found a way to eat oatmeal. A way other than in a bowl. Homemade granola..

I melt all-natural peanut butter in the microwave, 2 TBS of peanut butter for 35 seconds, stir 2 spoons pure maple syrup in it, mix it with 1/2 cup of oats and Ready, Set Go! I put in on aluminum foil and BROIL it in my toaster oven. Homemade Granola...

For my evening meal, I make a mango, peanut butter powder, rice protein powder, 2 drop of coconut oil and a cup of Vanilla Soy Milk. It is the consistency of soft ice cream, and I top it with homemade granola.

Searching the blog with the word OATMEAL found Something to Giggle about and Giggle I did!

Tips for YOU

I am always looking for ways to hide the fact I am eating Oatmeal! I toast oats, sunflower nuts, Rasins in Ninja Oven, I like a handful as a snack or eat it with a little soy milk for breakfast, mixed with rice cereal or cheerios.
I found a recipe on Mari's blog, My Little corner of the world, for homemade granola bars. You can get her recipe on the link. I have a short list of what I can eat due to IBS.
I made only one bar. I had just enough oats toasted for one bar.
I simply added maple syrup, natural crunchy peanut butter to the oats, Rasins, stirred, pressed it down into a bar, and left it in the fridge. Mari used honey; honey doesn't like me.
I just break off a small piece with a fork and that is my snack and hidden heathy food that is yum

Olives are a good source fiber, taste, and have 7 good reasons to eat them. One of those benefits is aid the digestive system. I put them in my rice pasta salads with yellow peppers..
click HERE to find 7 benefits

I changed sugar to sugar cubes, because My hubby's hands shake, and he has memory issues and when he spills sugar on the counter, he doesn't remember to wipe it up. in Florida we have any problems.
I store the 1 lb of cubes in 2 containers that are easy for him to hold and keep the small container, because he can pull out 2 cubes with fingers and drop in his coffee.
No sugar on the counters. I eat zero sugar and don't bake, and this is working well.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that I found a way to eat oatmeal that I really like and enjoy. Oatmeal for breakfast is NOT my thing.. I simply pour oats on a pan, sprinkled sunflower nuts and raisins and stuck it in the broiler to heat.. DO NOT MOVE from the Ninja Oven, you will burn the raisins. I burned mine a little standing there watching it. You may bake if you like, I am to impatient. I kept it in the container and ate a couple of spoons of it each morning with toast. I also make cinnamon toast this way, French bread slice and put in in the Ninja on broil. there are 3 things on my It's OK to eat IBS list of foods.

today you can all be thankful I only have one photo and a lot less words than usual.

Heart Healthy Oats

Heart Healthy Oats that are IBS friendly
The pancake is my own recipe, adding oatmeal to my pancake mix and is a way to hide the oats that is healthy but not so tasty. I am not fond of oatmeal unless it is hot, full of butter and brown sugar.
I use gluten free flour, 1 egg, Vanilla soymilk and add oats.
I can't eat butter/brown sugar so that is out of the question.
Due to a sugar addiction I had to give up sugar 6 years ago, and the cookie that has saved my life is the one below.
The one below is healthy, tasty and yummy,
The cost is a little high, at $4.59 for 8 cookies, but I only eat one a day.
These have no sugar added, sweetened with natural fruits only.
gluten free, non gmo,high fiber
for more info I added the link to the Alyssas Cookie Site at the end of post.
There are 4 different cookies, I buy which ever they have but
PREFER THE CHOCOLATE, of course, of course.
The healthiest for me is the one Called healthy bites.

All the information and locations that sell them in their store is below or in the link.

I buy mine at Publix and the cost is not bad because they keep me away from sugar. I forgot to mention I can only eat Canadian Pure Maple Syrup. Thank you to my Canadian Friends.

List of stores that carry them is below with the link.

Hiding Oats to be Healthy

I am not in love with Oatmeal. I eat it to be healthy, now thanks to English Girl Rambles, post about adding oat to her omelet, I found ways to HIDE my oats.

I tried adding to my crepe for breakfast and it was ok but not delish. Delish turned out to be my cinnamon toast I have for breakfast a couple of times a week. My IBS loves fresh baked French Bread. I eat a few slices every day.

Stir 2 spoons 100 % Maple Syrup with peanut butter, sprinkle cinnamon, drop a few oats in it, add a few Rasins and stir. spread the paste on French Bread.

I like my toast soft on bottom, crispy on top, which means I do Air Broil in Ninja oven on high for 2 minutes, I must stand and watch to get it just right or grab the fire extinguisher.

Just So You Know, I have to SHARE pieces with Beau and that is why there are 3. Usually, I make 2

Miscellaneous Moments!

MISC #1

Bob and I were walking Beau, We met our neighbor John who loves to talk as much as I do. Most of the time we meet going opposite ways, chat and move on.

On this day we met at the 4 way stop, and ended up walking along together. John was against the left curb, Bob against the right curb, holding Beaus leash, I was in the middle of the street.

We were managing the social distance thing, but there was a problem for me.

Both John and Bob have extreme hearing problems.  As we walked John was talking up a storm in my left ear, Bob doing the same in my right ear.

Neither of them Knew the other was talking,

I was dying with laughter trying to carry on two conversations with them about different subjects.

Think stereo system with sound from each speaker playing a different song....😛😛😛

I AM THANKFUL I CAN HEAR and TALK

Misc #2
My oatmeal is on a plate. the small part if for Beau the Beautiful Canine. Mine has walnuts and rasins, his does not. I use the plate to make it cool faster. I feed it to him off the end of my finger.
He sucks it off like a baby taking a bottle.

I AM THANKFUL WE FOUND BEAU

Misc #3
 Blogger TIP.

If you are creating a post in blogger,  and the silly thing keeps doing double spaces and you want single space,  look to your left, and the drop box that says Paragraph, change that to normal. It will then behave itself.

No, it will not stay that way, sometimes it stays and sometimes NOT. This IS Blogger...

I AM THANKFUL I FOUND BLOGGER AND ALL OF YOU....

Oatmeal, NOT Cookies

My favorite way to make oatmeal, includes crunchy peanut butter, raisins, and sweet n low. I make it thick, no milk. Big Boy loves it as much as I do.

A friend at TOPS said her friend doesn't like it in microwave, she likes it made in a pot on the stove. She makes a big pot, pours it in a greased pan and bakes it for 30 minutes, stores it in fridge and cuts squares each day.

To test what cold oatmeal taste like, I plopped a big spoon of mine in a bowl, sat in fridge and at 10 am snack time, it was delish... later that day, I ate a Vegan Bite cookie and thought this tastes like my cold oatmeal. POP! went the MadSnapper light bulb and I made a batch, see above, sat it in FREEZER and oh my word!

Frozen Oatmeal Pop! so yummy. They are hard as a brick, but after 5 minutes to thaw, just like ice cream. Almost.  The first batch I used parchment paper. Way t hard to get the paper off. Next batch I used aluminum foil. When frozen, remove and place in a plastic container. I eat them for snacks, breakfast on the run or even for my evening meal....  mine come to 35 calories per cookie.
Recipe for mine, but you can use whatever you like in yours.
1/2 cup Oats
1 cup water
1/4 cup raisins
1 Package Sweet N Low  or sweetener of your choice
2 minutes in Microwave
beat with spoon until thick, plop on tin foil..

I am gong to experiment with coconut, cranberries, chopped nuts and flavored sweeteners. May even try a little cocoa

Time OAT For Breakfast

Take Time OAT for Breakfast, the most important meal of the day

Our Bodies need breakfast, doesn't matter what time you get up, our body needs fuel to start up after a night of resting...

At least twice a week I have a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter stirred in. I count calories and carbs, no more than 40 per meal, 30 per snack, no more than 200 per day.

This breakfast is 27 carbs and  Calories 250 to 350, depending on if I choose 1 TBS Or TBS of peanute butter. For me Natural is all I eat, and Quack-er Oats is best.

Do you eat breakfast?
What do you eat for breakfast?

Do you eat oatmeal?
I change up to walnuts and raisins sometimes.
What do you eat in your oatmeal?

I also Take Time OAT to play in Photoshop, PicMonkey and Sketchpad, to create these 3 pics today
I took time Oat to play in Photoshop, PicMonkey and Sketchpad, after I took time oat to play with my Samsung Tablet and Pip Camera in the tablet.. Fun is as important as Food. Almost. Shout out to Ann of SnapEditScrap for pushing me to relearn Photoshop. If you hear loud screams, it is me struggling with it. Relearning what I learned years ago. BEFORE I FORGET, I forgot to do a post today, got up to NO COMMENTS and had to create this post...

Healthy Ramblings of MadSnapper

Bob eats oatmeal every day, when I eat it I feel like I have not eaten because there is no chewing involved. s my new favorite way to eat oatmeal is......

3/4 cup Plain NO Fat  yogurt, stir in 2 tablespoons uncooked oats, add chopped walnuts and sliced half of banana....  I invented this dish all by myself. I LOVE IT.

(I buy the large plain no fat yogurt and stir two sweet and lows packets in it and store it that way. use your choice of sweetener )

Per the doctor on a talk show  when the banana gets brown spots and is still firm enough to eat, that is when it has the most cancer fighting _________in it. I can't remember the word. HELP ME PLEASE.

Splenda generic

Per another doctor on talk show,  Researchers found that consuming Splenda caused blood sugar peaks higher by 20 percent and it caused higher insulin levels.
The research team gave water to 17 very obese a glass of water with Splenda in it and the insulin peak was 20 % higher than when they drank just a glass of water.

this means it might not be good to use it if you are diabetic or trying to cut back on sugar....
