Catchup - Feb 4th-8th

Feb 4th

Feb 5th

Ohhhhh that was one of my many wonderful times with my online friends I met in person on my Australian/NZ trip in 2015! Jo, who was working, even gave up her bedroom so I'd not be disturbed by her and her three children getting dressed earky mornings! WAY beyond the "hostesses" kindness I tell you! And I'm glad we're still online friends! 💞💞💞

Hmmmm here's Day 12 and still no guess except whatever it is has a huge head! I'm using a clear silver lined bead so not quite visible. I totally have no clue!

I read this someplace and just had to make note as I'm sure mine's reaching that level! "My stash won't be satisfying until I've achieved SABLE!"    AKA: Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy!

Feb 7th

BRRRRRRRRR!!!! 🌬

DAMN DAMN DAMN, I've not had such a frustrating hour with Shaw in CHAT, as to talk to someone was a 2 hour wait. See I accidentally shut off the wall switch and shut TV and Internet down, now taped over, all back on but not the volume on the TV! I've not had to look behind my TV since 2013 and was very leary when he asked I find the HDMI cable and switch ends! HUH! In the end all was good and glad I stayed in control and sent pictures so he could help me and gave it all a good dusting!

Now it's supper and wine!!!! 🥂 Was supposed to be tatting and then sewing on my binding, maybe I'll still get there!

Well 1 of 3 items I'd hoped to complete this evening. This is the 4th of 7 snowflakes I need this spring. It's the Twentyfirst Day of December from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn. I think I have to make this one for myself one day! I'll be finishing and starching them all together, that's when a better picture will be posted.

Well 2nd of the 3 items completed!

Okay TIAS Day 13 and I'm losing my enthusiasm to guess what this will be, maybe it's the stressful hour trying to get my TV working again! The head sure looks like it has a broad forehead. I'm using a clear silver lined bead so not quite visible.

Well it might be late, but I accomplished my goals for the evening!

This is Melissa Marginet's the Piled High Table Runner Class piece I finished off. It was awesome, even in ZOOM, to participate in a quilting class again, especially with Sylvia! AND I'm tickled pink with my colours, reversible even! I'm showing it on white but love it hanging on my bathroom door!

Feb 8th

Gosh I can't imagine "living" outside in this, going to and from the building and car were bad enough!

Here is Sylvia, my sister, and my own Piled High table runners from Melissa's recent class. We both enjoyed it very much! Sylvia's back is BnW and doesn't show up her white quilting.

Ohhhhh I'm so excited that Sylvia's quilting mojo and desire is back! She's in high gear planning 12 monthly small hangings for her outer hallway door! Here's February's and she's got a winter one recycling a cloth Snowman bag and soon a St. Patrick's Day hangers too. I'm helping out resizing the Leprechaun clipart image for her. 🤗🤗🤗

Now, what's up for me today?!?!

A Busy Day!

Oh talk about a busy day, feeling like I was back at work!  It started with untangling cords and disengaging the desktop tower and packing it, the old laptop and my new HP laptop and hauling all over to Tommy!  See he's my lifesaver computer wise all these years keeping my oldies working!  Now it's time to move on and upwards!  👌  But he needed my input for a bit before I could leave him to his magic!

Then over to pickup some more yummy homemade cookies from Angela's and a brief outside visit!  And finishing at Sylvia's in time to be the doorman while her freezer was delivered and set up (ordered back in October).  Then a quick check that I could get ZOOM on my tablet while there so we'll be ready for our MPQ class next week!  YEAH it works!

And here is Sylvia's mini sized International Sisters piece, needs embellishing and quilting too! Different layout! Love the fabric n colours!

Then back home to sew!  Okay this is the last picture until I get the beaded embellishments and then figure out how to quilt it! 😉

Thank you to Melissa and Sylvia for your ideas, I definitely like this better than adding other Down Under fabrics for the HSTs! ❤

Hmmmm Day 6 of TIAS and I'm still going with the North American beaver. Otherwise not sure what Jane's mind dreamt up! 😉

Catchup - Jan 22nd-23rd

Jan 22nd

Well TIAS Day 5 is uploaded! Hmmm still going with the North American beaver. Shoot, I'd planned on brown and cream, then changed to red! Ohhh well it'll have the Canadian colours whatever it becomes!

OMGG what a day and it's not over yet!!!!!

Started with sewing up more International Sisters Blocks, then off for an awesome walk with Edna in her neck of the woods, where we saw a huge white jack rabbit hopping ahead of us. Then finishing I thought with a car wash, inside, outside n underneath, she needed it!!! Nope not finished with the good vibes yet!

A text arrived that my HP laptop was delivered to the St James store 11ish today, well I'm just down the street so off I went to check in store as they're not answering their phone and no pick up text as yet. The doorman sent me to an area, worker checked, brought me my laptop and said good timing as it was next up to set up for pickup! It was possible shipping by the 27th! HOLY MOLY!!!!!

Okay back to my sewing and I've found my fabric for Tuesday's class with Melissa so cutting is next!

Jan 23rd

I'm pooped and stressed out! Computer work does that to me!!! All I did was transfer files from screen saved to actual folders plus looking for my Australian/NZ pictures that I KNOW Tom had found for me ladt year. But dang it I honestly thought I had saved them into a specific folder - NADA!!! Lucky Tom has a backup of my pics on his huge storage drive AND he's found them again! I OWE him big time that's for sure! 🤩🤩🤩 So over the week I worked on and off on my reduced to 5.25" unfinished International Sisters Blocks of my Australian/NZ fabrics and now have them completed for my wall hanging (not the MPQ project)!!! Now it's to decide on the HSTs all around after I cut and stitch on the sashings! YES these sister blocks are addicting! But soon something from my travels!

Catchup - Jan 19th-20th

Jan 19th

Brrrrrr it's a chilly day here, so I'm glad I'm home and TIAS Day 4 is in and done! Hmmmm reminds me of our Canadian beaver's huge oval tail. Ohhhhh!

Jan 20th

OMGG another UFO that hasn't been touched yet whereas Sylvia's is finished!

Ohhhhh after my relaxing massage, ordering my HP laptop, I played with the International Sisters Block pattern I reduced to 4.75" finished size. Initially I was hoping for an Australian fabric for sashing but that was too busy, then I auditioned a cream and coppery brown, the darker won out in my preference, more Australian and matching my apartment. I'm finally making myself a wall hanging show casing my Australian and New Zealand fabrics from 2015. Now this was my original plan for my wall hanging but looking at it I think I'm just going to have the sisters blocks edged with HST to make it square. So more sisters to cut and sew this week!

And to top off my day a new pressie for me! Do you have this one Heather K, since you were the one who got me hooked and just had to stop to check out her shop on my return trip!  😘

Catchup - Jan 16th-18th

Jan 16th

It was nice to see some of the Aurora gals on ZOOM today alongwith a chat with Angela on the phone. I finished another 3 of the remaining 4 RCMP blocks so very soon I can lay them out on my bed and start to sew the top together! YEAH!!!!!

I left a might early as I wanted to get in a walk with Edna around her area and some shopping done before supper. Made it in good time!

OMGG I didn't catch the details of the draw prize that I had won during this weeked's virtual quilting retreat, was too excited reacting!!!! So the email arrived with it and it's $50 to my choice of Manitoba Quilt Shop! Thank you MPQ, now to decide which shop!

Finally I cooked rather than ready made or fast food!

Jan 17th

OMGG, when this PFAS was posted beginning of the month, I immediately thought NAH, not this month! Then I saw the ribbon hands heart posting and thought MAYBE, so changed my reply! Then in seconds an idea was forming and finally a YES reply! I just should have waited a day as the next morning I was awoken with my complete postcard idea along with HOW I am to do it! DANG this is how my swaps work! My idea has to click right away or it's torture coming up with something! Now it's to slow down or I'll be chomping at the bit to send it out!!!! 🤣 Well I completed the actual ribbon design. This definitely is a first for me! The card front will be finished before I find out who it's going out to, well ahead of the deadlines!

A week ago I finished the front of my postcard and then prepping the back. Once I receive my recipient I'll complete the back, finish off my postcard and send it out ASAP. 💕💕💕

So yesterday this happened, back completed and today sandwiched and bound. Monday it'll be mailed off. I sure hope this brings a smile to many who see it enroute and also by the recipient.

My ribbon bits n pieces, with Heat n Bond.

All satin stitched in place.

I followed the penned words and trimmed.

Finished front.

Finished back.

Jan 18th

Ohhhhh I go from a quiet unproductive day yesterday to today totally CRAZY ideas popping up left n right and wanna get going! So since Thursday's MPQ ZOOM meeting with guest quilter Sew Preeti and her twist on the International Sisters Quilt Block, I've been wondering what kind of fabric I'll use. See Kathy n Bonnie have designed a stitch along using this block and others starting this weekend and I'm getting desparate! ☹☹☹

Then this morning both my breakfast and lunch were interrupted with IDEAS! So what could I do but set aside my food and go with the flow! See in 2015 I spent 1 month in Australia and 1 month in New Zealand and naturally picked up various native type fabrics along with some bought here too! These are what I'm going to use for the sisters blocks. 😃😃😃

Then a friend asked what they looked like, so my extra large overflowing ziplock of such was dumped onto the ironing board to sort useable fabrics and quick photos. BUT BUT BUT I now can't get them back in there! Guess I'll leave them as is for the weekend beginning steps! 🤣🤣🤣

I tried to put it all back in, gave up!

Then yesterday step 3 of the TIAS was posted but in the frame of mind I was in, left it alone! Good thing as today I tatted it up zippety quick no issues today! Still no idea what it'll grow up to be as my fancy dress flounce is out the door!

Tat It And See

OMGG I can't believe it but I've managed to finish off the fussy cut hexagon print blocks and now to sew all the blocks into a top! It'll have another column of blocks down the right side yet. Hope I've not got any in the wrong place!

I tried my darnedest to finish off the blocks into a top BUT just had to stop! I just needed to sew the rows together but ran out of energy! So another day! I'm very pleased I can finally see this as a quilt top!!!!!
