Catchup - Dec 26th - Jan 5th

Dec 26th

Good morning!!! I'm staying put, achy sore night, so hopefully easier day!

The kids have been very good so I've given them each a bigger treat! Not a peep out of either while I'm having my breakfast. Hope that wasn't a mistake!

Well I thought I'd say thank you for the Queen of UFOs group's support and mention that I've competed around 21 various sized UFOs (quilted items) since 2021 and of those 6 were donated (many others previously but not noted in these excel sheets). I promise I will continue with this plan you've started as a group to reduce my list of 51 UFO's (not all as I've three boxes of UFO's to list yet) but may not post there if we're shutting down. I will one day get my list completed and add NEW projects as they arrive!!!

Dec 27th

It's going to be a QUIET restful day and hopefully less aches!!! At first Bubba was content near Dahli, who's snoring. Then up Bubba jumped into my lap (more bruises I'm sure) and moved upwards!!! I wonder if leather pants would protect me??? YEAH SURE!!!

Well Sylvia finished off, mostly by herself, that puzzle we were working on this month. Lovely.

Today I watched Christmas movies and now working on Jacqui's gifted hexies project (mucho larger than my usuals) while listening to the Canada Junior and now Jets hockey!

They are very lazy today!!!

Dec 28th

Finally!!!! I found a way to get those gross feeds off my story lineup. Hold your finger on it and pops up option to mute it and I selected "until I choose to unmute". Will see if that works.

Okay I know I spoiled them at the start with access to my lap BUT now I want to stitch! Nope Bubba had enough of the couch and insisted he want to be here too! Is there anymore room in this chair? I'm cramped but not gonna try to get up till I need to or they leave, whichever first! 🙄

Juniors hockey and fireplace with piano music!!! What else could I ask for? Wine? Later maybe!

Okay those cuddles seem to have been axed! After their supper, they didn't want to go outside but 2 hours later I went out with them and wouldn't let them back in until completed. Well after a few minutes of dily dallying they both did so and hightailed it back into the house! Silly kids!

Well I did give them each a treat right away BUT they're mad at me and now that I've put my sewing away they both refuse to join me!!! Hmmmm wonder how long this boycott will last? 😆🫨🤔

The next two days will be interesting with colder temps!!!

Dec 29th

I know I had a chuckle and I'm sure the guy knocking did too watching me try to get up from the recliner with this stitching box in my lap! Talk about fun controlling the pugs and answering the door!!! I NEVER get visitors and here twice this week!!! Anyways he even recognized my work similar to his Grandmother's! WOW!!!

Dec 30th

Well I thought I'd watch a Christmas movie before switching to the Juniors hockey while stitching. Good idea but kinda a wrong choice! Don't get me wrong it was lovely but the last half hour was a tear jerker and Bubba kept watching me! Poor sensitive guy!!! I think it was a Southern Family Christmas. Now to clear the sight so I don't go jabbing my fingers more!!!

So happy they are back to sharing!!! 🥰

Dec 31st

I'm so glad I got to visit with Eilene and Bruce this afternoon! Poor girl tripped over an opened lower drawer and broke her foot just before Christmas and hobbling in a lower leg/foot cast!!!

So back with the dogs, still stitching and watching hockey. I only have Dahli sharing my chair and I think Bubba does not like the box or the laptop with hockey too close compared to the TV up high! I'll see if he joins me when I put the box away!

Jan 5th

Well it's been a very quiet entry into the New Year for me. Yesterday I ventured out for a couple hours of puzzle therapy at Sylvia's. Not sure about the succulents puzzle though! But we did book our girls week quilting escape, this time at Pineridge Point Cabin in St Malo. We're all looking forward to this closer location. Will see if it's a repeat or not.

Today Adele picked up my spirits with a much needed colour n cut! Thank you very much!

Then I did a couple errands before heading home, tired and achy!

Catchup - Dec 1st-10th

 Dec 1st

Thanks for posting this image Aruna. AND I used my Baileys coffee creamer this morning alongwith Edna's cranberry biscuits. YUMMY!!!

Dec 3rd

Today Sylvia and I enjoyed Olive Garden lunch before shopping. Then home and finishing off tatting the angels by WIKI with my changes, found years ago on the Web. Next to dress them up!

Dec 4th

Well today in that blustery morning I ventured out to Meadowood Quilters sewing day, worked on more of my now pressed potato chip blocks (3 more added to my stack). Love this and my Assiniboine Circle Quilters group sewing days, I seem to get more done here than at home, too many distractions! If I'd gotten here an hour sooner, maybe another block could have been sewn up. I just wish I could snap my fingers and transport magically not hauling stuff!!!
On the way home the wind had calmed down and it seemed warmer. So over to Sylvia's for some puzzle time. One finished and another started!!!
Hey for once it's chilly in my apartment, shorts were a no no this evening!!! The wind must be from a different direction!

Dec 6th

As far as my hip/back pain, well I've good days and then some bad ones, but I keep going and am very thankful for my family/friends within my quilting community.
I did have my MRI recently, results back last week, not good news. Basically L1-2, L2-3, L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1 all affected to various degrees.
Results "Impression: severe central canal stenosis at L4-5 and moderate to severe central canal stenosis at L3-4. Recommend consultation with spine surgeon."
My sports medicine Dr said spinal injection maybe a first step with "lyrical - nerve pain blocker" and discuss surgery (not my choice). He's referred me to a spine surgeon and I've a phone consultation set up for end of January.
Hey I'm still mobile and have many good days ahead hopefully.
If anyone in my FB friends has undergone spinal fusion surgery (or have immediate family or close friends) recently, I'd love to hear their thoughts on their surgery, results and how they are now. Thank you very much.
UPDATE:
Has anyone with these symptoms been for laser spinal decompression therapy? If yes, what are your thoughts on it please? Thank you!!!
I've also joined a back pain therapy group, posted my qyestions there and read mostly good news on surgeries but still leary of that.

Dec 8th

I think I need that wine that's in the fridge. Now I know my body is falling apart but my mind is not ready for all this shit! It took me 30 minutes to walk 4 blocks and only benches at the Law Courts to rest halfway, otherwise stops over my sticks?
Just back from my 6 month cataract check only to be told surgery on my right eye will be January 26th and the left to be scheduled afterwards! And January 30th is my phone consultation with the spine surgeon.
So got home and promptly found the ad for Dr. Suzanne's Laser Spinal Decompression Clinic, I've a phone consultation for Wednesday, then will see. I'm open to this than surgery.
SHEESH!!!

Dec 10th

Well I've had my phone consultation with Dr. Suzanne of the Laser Spinal Decompression Clinic noting my L4-5 was severe and might take more treatments. I start therapy January 6th. She noted the usual was 3x/week but said many from out of town can't do that so I also chose 2x/week. I pray this helps and I can forget about the spinal injection and spinal surgery too! I need all the help I can get to hopefully get back as much of my mobility I can!

Catchup - Aug 1st-12th

Aug 1st

Well I walked to Boston Pizza to meet Pat for fishbowl Friday and pizza. So double the info for the return trip.

My Banff Sulphur Mtn Abalone earrings!

Yummy!!! Lately I've been thinking of having a Bulldog (it's been years since the last one) and glad I had it. It was awesome to catch up with Pat and hear that they saw some of my Vancouver stops from their trip. And I might even get to visit their pets on Sunday too!

Ohhh and I've my new glasses on as I needed a stronger lense for my right eye and since I didn't have two pairs Costco couldn't just order the lenses to be popped into their one year old frames, I had to get new frames too! Not happy since I'm not covered except every two years!

Aug 2nd

I'm very sorry Aruna you were not here! I pray that you recoup and we can get together again.

I did enjoy my supper, veggies were delicious and he held back the broccoli!!! And my waiter was great! Now to head home and relax!!!

Aug 3rd

OMGG I totally ❤️❤️❤️ this yard and Randy's love of gardening! Now that he's retired, he can leisurely enjoy this hobby! Thank you Pat & Randy for giving me this day in your jungle and with your pets, Freyr and Isa!
It is SOOOO wonderful on this swing before the heat of the day!!!

Isa

Freyr

Isa's favourite spot in the shaded gazebo.

OMGG I totally missed my sister's painted rock she gave for their garden after moving from Dryden!

Talk about a lovely day in the shade with a slight breeze!!! Isa wanted outside so after the Blue Jays game I came outside with her and relaxed on the swing. But she disappeared, but I found her!

Favourite spot in the shaded gazebo!

That's when I noticed the three Nordic-like characters that Pat said Randy would LOVE when she n Byran visited me at the Lien's home years ago. Well when they downsized Joan Lien asked if I'd like to have them and as you can see they are hanging proudly!!!

Ohhh and I missed some other pictures that Pat showed me.

Aug 5th

WOW!!! A week ago I was going to go to the Casino then thought NAH!!! A couple days ago I received a Casino email about Senior's Day and $10 free play monies plus 30% off food, so checked with Sylvia and off we went today.
Now she is think was slightly ahead going home. ME was shocked at my good luck! I went with $75 cash then ATM $50 (wanted those three FISHES to burst, two did so I shut down) and cashed out with $236.45 - that's $111.45 ahead today!!! So back went cash into my gambling wallet and the $111.45 I just might hang onto for the trailer vacation coming up.

Big win on my Free Play and once used up cashed out my $5 to start the $10 free play with $74.70!!!

Sylvia's

Sylvia's

WOW! I don't think I've ever had that many free games!

This was another $10 cash start and it was a bit higher before I finally cashed out!

Leanne you'll have to show Rod my "grilled shrimp" (were on skewers) I craved on our vacation and finally had at home!!!

My winnings!

Aug 6th

HOLY CRAPPOLA!!!!! That was a very LOUD and CLOSE lightning and hammering thunder! Go away!!! And now pouring!!!!

Aug 7th

Dang it's smokey out there and talk about low and intense too!

Aug 8th

I couldn't resist treating myself again since my arm is still hurting me since Tuesday mornings bloodwork!!! UGH to the bruise but YUMMY to the Bulldog and pizza!!!!

Aug 12th

Just helped Sylvia finish off this puzzle the other day.  It's one I'll secure the front and then glue it to foam core to hang in my sewing room.  I love doing puzzles.

It's finished!

Summer cut.

Guess it was a good thing I'd been lucky at the casino last week as yesterday I received in the mail a camera generated speeding ticket from Aug 4th!  This was a surprise but then Grant is lower.  Better curb this heavy foot!!!
