Catchup. - Nov 1st-9th

Nov 1st

 Nov 2nd

After numerous Dr appointments over the past three years, about my sporadic pain and an xray pointing to a couple compressed vertebrae, sciatic and lots of arthritis, was basically told to find nonsurgical solutions. Prior to my vacation I was referred to a sports Dr and hopefully a cortisone shot, but not in time to relieve painful movements. Finally July 30th I had a consultation and was told no shot in the hip as the pain stems from my lower back and requested an MRI. On Thursday I had a call from Boundary Trails for a Sunday 2pm MRI.

I pray some kind of solution results from this. Yes I've done physio and it helps but it's not a fix and I don't care to rely on meds and rubs daily. Some days I'm not even sewing!!!

Nov 4th

Oooohhhhh I'd like to make this on a smaller scale though!!!

Nov 7th

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!! 😪

It's been FIVE days without hot water!!! There better be some when I get home from my Craft Sale so I can soak these sore old bones!!!!

Yeah after 5 days we now have HOT water! BUT watch it as it's steaming HOT - ridiculous. I feel bad for those with children as it scalding hot.

Catchup - Sept 22nd-25th - Roseau River Retreat

Sept 22nd

Well today Sylvia, Pat and I drove to Roseau River Bible Camp for Adiena's quilting retreat.  Yes Edna did not join us, said it was too close to our August lake retreat for her.  Plus she has family outings coming up.  This time we had to bring tonight's supper and our lunches too.  Yummy taco salad!!!

Well I finished quilting the last ACQ placemat and also sandwiched and quilted my Berry Pickers NICU quilt for ABC.

Pat is trying my Lil Twister with 5" charms and she's just about finished it - but says to piddly for her. I'm trying to get her to do the 2.5" mini charms and the Mini Twister, don't think that'll happen.

Sylvia was working on a Christmas tablerunner but forgot her green thread fir the applique, then switched to zippered bags but her retreat machine does not like sewing with plastic so both those packed up. She pulled out another table runner and I like the fall colours!!!

I think it's crash time for me! Achy!!!

Sept 23rd

Good morning! And it's another foggy morning at this retreat too! With morning greetings from a doe and her twins!

This is last nights work! This is a THIRD project Pat has made from fabric purchased at OMA's and Sylvia is working on a mixed bag of items.

WOW!!! That's a lot of work for that building!

Well still a productive day for all of us! I finished another 36" NICU coverlet, Pat's finished off her table topper and working on another Lil' Twister and Sylvia on a lovely Christmas table topper.

Sept 24th

Okay here's my Lil Twister from sewup, cutup/twist to finish. I'm thinking I'll sew this up into my Brother sewing machine cover.

Here's Pat's Lil Twister sewn up and Sylvia's Christmas table topper.

Sept 25th

And this morning I sewed up the back and sides from the charms for my larger stay at home Brother machine. Will assemble and quilt it one day!

Catchup - Aug 16th-23rd

Aug 16th

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!! Us girls were on a ROAD TRIP once again to Perrault Falls for our annual Cliff Lake RV Camp for quilt retreat and relaxation. But first lunch at the Coop restaurant with sweet Adeline and her friend Wendy in Keewatin.

We're all unpacked food wise and relaxing. OOOHHH and Angie it's all thumbs up on the rocking chairs!!! But I didn't ensure it was locked and when the cat jumped onto it well it snapped closed, cat got caught. Pat was laughing when leaning over to release the cat and her chair collapsed too. At least the cat left!!!

Aug 17th

We're in the summer kitchen BBQing chicken breasts, baked potatoes and green beans!!! Yummy!!!

Only picture of Edna and her one finished item so far.

All in a day's work!!!

I planned out the gifted 1 3/4" HSTs today! Probably a green border!

OMGG we three hadn't a chance as Pat's start was also the end!!! Cheeky girl!!!

And then this game we were down to THREE before I won!!!

Aug 18th

You know that song, "Moody Manitoba Morning", well that's what we woke to and stayed around all day! But finally it saw the loon not only hearing it often!!!

Aug 19th

Thank you Pat for smokies n pork n beans n Edna for pickles luncheon!

Today I finished the HSTs Mini Chevrons quit top, will add a narrow purple then a green print wider borders. Gonna be my baby from gifted triangles. Next for me another 1.75" HSTs project from Pat's magazine, lots of ideas in there!!!

Edna is hand quilting a wall hanging, Pat's stitching the binding on her Eskimo ladies placemat, fabric from their Alaska trip and Sylvia was doing Suduko and also working on her maple leaf hot mats.

Finally it's partially sunny n clouds and warm so we are relaxing (I'm tatting) outside, while Sylvia is taking a nap! Oh this is the life!!! This fresh air is even zonking me out some, but I've lots of projects to do!!! Ohhhh and Angie, Pat found your rockers on Amazon but over $200 each, guess I'll have to check locally for one at least on sale! They all say very comfy!!! Thank you for lending them to us and I pray I bring them home undamaged!!!  Aaahhhhh Sylvia joined us now!!!

Dang it!!! I forgot to take pics of our lovely BBQd riblets, savory potato wedges and coleslaw supper! It was scrumptious!!!

Lots of seaguls.

Aug 20th

Ooopsie, forgot pictures but Sylvia, Edna and Pat are still works in progress. Here's my next project laid out and I've 3 rows sewn together. These are another set of 1.75" HSTs gifted to me, this will be a NICU coverlet when finished.

We also went to the Whiskey Jack Restaurant for lunch, YUMMY!!!

Aug 21st

Well today after our trailer breakfast we went to Dryden and first stopped at Fabric on a Whim then downtown to the thrift stores before heading to lunch with Sylvia's friends. Then over to see Florence's new home before dropping into Tammy's Studio to say HI to the Dryden quilting ladies having a sewing day. Then gassing up and heading back to the trailer for a bacon n eggs supper and Dominoes games.  DUH ME, forgot pics!

Aug 22nd

Today I tried to get Edna's machine working (stopped Wednesday) but even with her manual I didn't know enough to do so. So I let her use my machine to finish attaching her binding and now she's hand stitching it closed. Pat is working on a background for her hexie flowers she worked on earlier, her own design using up left over charms from two previously finished projects - way to go girl! Sylvia was working on a Christmas table runner but stopped to let Pat sew and switched to her Love Letters Sampler embroidery project for awhile. I'm sewing up my HSTs for a NICU coverlet.

So far it's a partially sunny day and I'm going outside to tat later on. Reubens for lunch - honestly we're eating well and mostly healthy! BBQd pork tenderloin for supper!!!

Edna finished her binding, I'm sewed up my rows, Pat's sewing her background squares for her hexies and Sylvia finished sewing up some Christmas table runners, just need to quilt them. And here's the other day's finished hot mats!

Then Pat fixed up the pan hash browns and foil wrapped BBQd garlic carrots and I prepped the foil wrapped BBQd seasoned pork tenderloin for our supper! Yummy!!!

Finished the evening packing away our sewing paraphernalia so tomorrow after breakfast we just have to pack up the left over food and return home!!! And more Dominoes!!!

Aug 23rd

On our way home we stopped into Kenora, I bought a lovely summer red dress from Reddens, we met Adeline for lunch at BP then walked down to Turtle Island Cloth & Craft Company to check out her shop - WOW!!!

https://www.facebook.com/share/17GistiWBe/

This shop was bought over from Born to Quilt and expanded! Love the old hardware left intact from the Hardware Store it was in the past.

Arrived home 6ish and just unloaded the car in three trips! I'm pooped, feet up and making my grocery list for tomorrow's shopping. See Monday morning our one and only elevator will be out of service for major repairs. I've rescheduled two appointments for the week after but my dentist one Monday was too short notice so it'll be a very slow walk down then back up again the SIX floors!!! UGH!!!
