Down at Dunalley, Tasmania.

The Hotel at Dunalley was built in 1866 and built by a prominent landowner, the pub burnt down in 1891 and rebuilt somewhat differently. The Hotel is situated at the gateway to the Tasman Peninsular down the southeastern area of the Island of Tasmania, Australia.
Not a big population in this small town.  There is a Canal called Denison Canal which opened for use in 1905 lets the boats pass through from one parcel of land to the other side.

The white daisies are on the banks overlooking the sea, and a bay.

The sea

Some photos that I forgot to post back in mid spring taken on one of our drives.
These photos were taken at a rest area near Wynyard along the north west coast of the Island.  We bought lunch and sat on this seat, watched the little yachts doing their races, we looked towards Tablecape where the Tulips are grown.
The sea is Bass Strait.

Bridport, Tasmania

The other week we went to Bridport which is not that far from home here in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.  We bought some lunch after trying several places as we don't eat normally between the hours of 11.30am to 2pm, we often eat about 2pm or 3pm so it's hard to find places that will feed you.  We did find a place with left over take a way so took the food down by the sea and ate.
The map below has a dark spot next to Bridport to give some idea where we went.
The first photo is our course of an old getty and it's popular with photographers, also looks nice hanging on walls which I did.

We have been shuffling cars around so to speak this past week.  We bought a brand new car, we had to wait only 6 weeks for it to arrive off cargo vehicle carrier then to be detailed and so on, we took delivery on Tuesday afternoon.  Sold the other vehicle we used to tow the caravan with and then sold my Audi as well. It is and was time to downsize and I'm sure we'll manage with only one car, if we don't I'll buy another.

Carlton Beach

Carlton Beach is 40km east of Hobart in Tasmania.  Every time I've been there it's been very windy, nearly blows the camera out of your hands.

The beach was given the name by a whaler in 1806.
Carlton has a good surf club and holds competitions as in a surfing carnival. The club was established in 1975, the first surf carnival being held in 1956.
The area of Carlton is both rural and urban.

Further update of the caravan - it's been sold :) photos below the first two of when the caravan was new back in May 2015.  It had a bathroom which included a separate shower, toilet, wash basin, washing machine and cupboards.

Swimcart Beach

In the St. Helens area is Swimcart Beach on the east coast of Tasmania which is lovely, many people camp there in the summer, I'm told it's very hard to get a place to park the caravan or pitch a tent.  There are toilets there and as far as I'm aware it's all free.
I've included a photo of the Australian bush which is opposite one of the scenic views along the road.

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) says Irma, her website is [ here ] and well worth the visit as Irma takes such beautiful photos.  This is the bird that visited us at the St. Helens Caravan Park.

St Helens, Tasmania

St Helens is the largest town on the north-east coast of Tasmania, Australia, on Georges Bay.  It is known as the gaming fishing capital of Tasmania and is also renowned for its oyster as are other areas of Tasmania.  The town is about 160 km east of Launceston and takes about 2 and 1/2 hours to get there.  The highest temperature record there was 41.8 deg C (107.2 F) in a January but the graph doesn't say what year!

St Helens is a popular holiday place because of it's many beaches.
We visited the fish shop below a few times when we stayed there in summer and bought fish to cook in the caravan.
We are going to sell the caravan and it's been taken to caravan place to be sold, it might take awhile before it sells, but who knows really.  So I suppose we will still visit places and stay in Motels, Apartments of something like when ever we feel like it.

Down by the sea above and below in the caravan park. Several cabins are painted on the outside as below.

The Amenities block above, ever so clean with showers, toilets and a separate laundry.

A couple of children stopped to have a conversation near us.

Friendly bird who came to visit often - taken with my phone.

Freycinet National Park

These captures were taken at Freycinet National Park on the East Coast of Tasmania.
The hills or Mountains are called the Three Hazards.
Behind the Hazards is Wine Glass Bay, the Bay being the shape of a wine glass.  It's quite a walk and lots of stairs to see the view and no road into it.  To stand on the beach you go by boat.
The photo is borrowed.

The town near here is called Coles Bay and it was the first place in the WORLD to BAN plastic shopping bags in April 2003.

The Lookout

Forgot in the previous post to include this bird.

Update.  The name of the bird is a Pacific Gull.  Thank you [ David ]

View from the look out at Friendly Beaches.  Also the  walkway to it and we did watch for snakes.

It's called a Banksia.

Friendly Beaches, Tasmania

Friendly Beaches are a long expanse of beaches on the  East Coast of Tasmania, you need a parks pass to enter the area to get to the beaches.  The sand is silky, pleasant to visit on a lovely day.
I've shown this area before about a couple of years ago but in a different area of the Beaches.

In and around Swansea

Swansea on the east coast of Tasmania has a few lovely beaches.  The first photo is the one behind the caravan park.  There is a bit of sand there but it can't be seen.
The view is of what is called The Hazards in the distance at Freycinet National Park.
The bay is called Great Oyster Bay.

Jo-Anne has written a little about Tasmania [ here ], you might find it interesting.

A graveyard that look out to the sea. Below is a guest house or was.
