At the Edge of the Desert.

At the edge of the Desert in Western Australia we went looking for Wildflowers near a place called Carnarvan in that State.  How delighted we were to come across the flowers that I'm showing.  Somewhere there is always a flower in bloom.  These were taken in the springtime.

Wildflowers, WA

Just some Wildflowers growing on the side of the road/Highway in Western Australia, there were just masses of them. Apparently in 2015 it wasn't a good year for the Wildflowers.  I have shown the 2nd photo before but seeing as I found the Sturt Desert Pea photo of the mass growing of them decided to show again.

The purple flower below is called Purple Mulla Mulla by the Indigenous people - Our First Nation People, this purple flower grows in a dry area up in Northern mid west to western Australia. No matter where you are in Australia there is always some flower out somewhere.

After Biloela, Queensland

Update - Searched the internet - found out what the plant is called - it's a weed and you can read about it { here }

Winter 2018 continued.  After we left Biloela Queensland some distance up the road heading west in the middle of now where I spied these flowers in the bush, so I requested that we stop in a safe place so an investigation could take place.
Have no idea what these blooms are called but they do stand out in the bush, the second photo you can see the attempt to keep a 'pink' ribbon around where they grow.
The bottom photo of the map is where we were heading from Biloela to Emerald in Queensland.

Travelling in Western Australia...

Western Australia is the bigggest State of Australia. It covers one side of this Land from top to bottom.
There are very few towns.

No such thing as 'Fresh Bread' up north.  It's frozen and mostly sold thawed.
Many places (Caravan Parks) there is little or NO TV.
Heaps of places there is no Telephone Service or Internet Services, even as you drive down the road. For km there is isolation.
Fuel is available at Roadhouses placed just in the correct position from the last one. There are no other houses or people other than those who work in them.
Most people who work in these places (Roadhouses) are from another country. Germany, France, Denmark, Holland, Ireland, England, Asians and a few other countries.  There seems to be hardly any Australians. I believe that most of these people who are young are on working Visas and it's very isolated for them here in the State of Western Australia (WA)

We travel 500 km some days which takes up to 7 hours of driving, stopping for 5 minutes here and there to stretch our legs. We usually leave on such days at 5.30am so that we arrive just after lunch time at our new destination.
Whilst in a town we look around the sites, find out the history if possible, take photos and meet the local people.
One thing that Western Australia has this time of year is Wildflowers.  There are so many kinds it would take a mountain of years to document and photographic them.

Flower below is Sturt Desert Pea

Purple Mulla Mula

Perennial Statice

Not sure of the name of this white flower.
