Color Throwdown 439-Best Things

Hello everyone!  Happy Wednesday!   Vickie is our hostess for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!  The colors I chose for our challenge are redorangepurple, and yellow.  Remember, we are using generic colors, so as long as you're close, you're good and as always, feel free to incorporate any other neutrals you need into your design as well.  I hope this BRIGHT color palette inspires you to create a card or project and that you'll have fun playing along with our challenge!

If you upload to a public gallery please use the key words CTD439, and please use #ctd439 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites.  Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog.  All of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, so please check them if you are in doubt.  One last detail to remember, no digital designs.  Only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed.  Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up.

I am so excited to show off this week's card. You know why??? I finally dug out my beloved Unity stamps and picked one to work with. I was so blessed to work with Angela and the amazing design team for a few years. Top notch company and amazing people and adorable stamps. I used the itty bitty, Best Things Just Happen.  I used my zig clean color brush markers to water color the pretty stem in the challenge colors.

 I added the purple in by stamping the sentiment twice, once in black and then again in Royal Purple on a piece of scrap paper. I cut that block out and pieced it over top of the stamped black sentiment on the card front. I finished it off with a scattering of sequins.

Reminder {Curtain Call and Unity Something Simple Challenge}

There is still time to join us for the
You have until
June 10th at 8:00 AM CDT to be inspired and share your project!

Current challenge details and link-up are here

Our sponsor for this challenge is Unity Stamp Co.!
The LEAD will receive a fabulous prize.

Here is my second card for this challenge.

 I really played up the white and wood planks from the inspiration photo. It was so hard to photograph this card, but it is really pretty. I just love the white on white. I heat embossed the Floral Hello Stamp with white embossing powder.

I stamped it on vellum and then used m beloved LID Stitched mats-circle die to cut out the image. I punched a whole and added a sweet bit of twine.

I stamped the sentiment in gray ink and added a mix of white enamel dots and marshmello sequins for simple embellies.

Curtain Call-Something Simple Unity Challenge

**Please Scroll down for my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card and my RC SFYTT card**
It's a Triple post Sunday!

Welcome back. Yes, I have been busy. It has been a great last week of the month, but I'm glad to be moving on. School is out, work is done for the year, and soccer tryouts are wrapping up. I'm so grateful in the midst of my crazy busy life, I have my card making to keep me sane. I sat down to make this soft and pretty card for this current Curtain Call Challenge.

I always am pleased and so honored to get to work with the sponsor's products. This month holds a special place in my heart. It's Unity Stamp Co. I loved designing for them for many many years and is was hard to step away from the DT a few months ago. It sure felt like visiting an old friend when I made this card.

We have an awesome new sponsor, Unity Stamp Company!  Unity provided each of the Curtain Call designers with an Itty Bitty stamp set for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Something Simple!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive a gift certificate to Unity Stamp Company!

I loved the itty bitty I got. A Floral Hello.  One, it was designed by the fabulous Angie Blom and two, the flowers were soooo pretty.

 I used really light copic markers, ones with double 0's,  to color this one up. I really wanted to play up the white on white so I wanted the colors soft and subtle. Light aqua and purple are always a pretty combo.

I felt like using lots of circles and round elements on the card, being inspired by the roundness of the river rocks in the photo.  I used a few of my favorite Lil' Inker Designs dies. (see links below). I then stamped the sentiment onto a die cut circle with Smoke Gray ink (simon says stamp).

Sequins and a bundle of sewing thread were my finishing touches. I have always used twine for this lasso, bundled texture look, but I've noticed some card makers out there using a thinner thread, so I reached for my sewing kit. I had some grey thread and it matched perfectly. I think it helped with the overall softness of the card. I'll be using my thread more often.

I'm also linking this up with the current Seize The Sketch Challenge
Such a great sketch with endless possibilities.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 204 {love}

I can't tell if that week went fast or sloooow. I think with all the FREEZING weather around here, the weeks are slow! Not to mention the computer problems I am having. Ha! Trying to stay calm over here, but it sure puts a damper on a crafty bloggers life!

I had this card all edited and looking pretty for my blog and then our laptop DIED! I should have blogged it right away. For now, I am resorting to pictures with my phone, so please bear with me. :)

It's time for another fabulous sketch with the Sweet Sunday Sketch team! I flipped this week's sketch to fit some lovey Unity stamps I have.

I used the Unity SMAK kit from last month, YOu are Loved. The love themed kit is fantastic for all your Valentine's Day projects.

I am using the same color scheme that I used last week. The soft  pretty colors, insulation pink and Smokey slate pair so nicely with the navy. I used all three to create my focal point on that Notepad Die-namics. Washi Tape Die-namics  are what I used behind the sentiment panel.

I finished it off with some of my favorite hemp twine, a die cut heart from Love Notes Confetti cuts and a button.

Here's the sketch for this week.

Stop by Karen's Blog for all three challenge details.
 Don't forget to see what the Sweet Sunday Sketch team has done this week.

Thanks so much for visiting today.
