Getting Inky

My stamping world is a little turned upside down at the moment. As you know, I live for nap time, it's my time to stamp. Well, what happens when nap time is no more? Ummmm, I don't get a lot done. For almost 7 years ( well at least the last two I've been religiously stamping almost everyday) I have used this two hour, almost completely uninterrupted time to be creative. Nicholas has almost stopped napping completely this last week! WHAT?! How can this be? He only just turned 2, my other two didn't give up naps until they were almost 4! I'm a little upset about this, but will find something that works for us. If you have any suggestions, bring 'em on! Here are the two quick cards I did yesterday. I got my Unity March KOTM, Simple Life, a bit inky! This silhouette floral image is one of my favorites from the kit (the whole kit is amazing!). I used the Wed. Unity addicts challenge for this first one. We were to use the colors-turquoise, orange, pink, and brown. I almost pulled out some retired Bali Breeze dsp, but decided on some Pink Flamingo (SU) and Offbeat (Basic Grey). The second one was even quicker. Happy Thursday! Hugs, Lisa

When things look like they were Made for Each Other!

Yes, I love that! Yesterday was the Wednesday Unity Addicts challenge. I wasn't going to do it. I had other things to work on, but then it hit me and I had to stamp it out! The challenge was an inspiration challenge. Here is the inspiration piece, isn't it just sooo inviting! I was really drawn to the pattern and the colors. So, what was the problem, well, I don't know. I guess I couldn't find the "perfect" stamp to use. Thanks to my messy craft room, I glanced down at the floor and saw the frame from the Unity November KOTM and green pattern paper from the Holiday Treasure dsp and WAM! it hit me! So I pulled this card together and I just love it! Isn't that chocolate kiss, just the cutest! I embossed it with choc. chip craft ink and clear embossing powder to make it more realistic! The top note die, that frame, and that designer paper just look like they were made for each other. That's all for today. Make sure you stop by tomorrow for a Stamp Something challenge. I've got something personal to share! Hugs,

Unity Wednesday Challenge on a Thursday!

Paper piecing was the Wednesday Unity Challenge this week. This is one of my favorite techniques to use with line art images and my FAVE set to use for paper piecing is the Unity Giggle Grove set.
Aside from the stamps, on this card I used all Stampin' Up! products-ribbon, paper, inks, and punches. The sketch is from this week's sketch challenge on SCS. I especially enjoyed this one because I was able to show off five different patterns from the Autumn Vine dsp (new paper coming on Oct.1 in the Holiday Mini). I think I also just found another fun (you'll be seeing a lot more of it) pairing of punches. Look at my sentiment. I used the wide oval punch in Choc. Chip and the 1 3/8 in. circle punch layered on top. I added a few mustard brads to balance the look. Now I'm loving fall more than ever-what a great excuse to make cards in fabulous fall colors! Go on, make a fall card today! Hugs,
