Milan: thousands attended the funeral of Dario Fo, actor–playwright, comedian, singer, theatre director, stage designer, songwriter, painter, political campaigner and Nobel Prize winner.
A Milano oggi è lutto cittadino con le bandiere civiche a mezz'asta per il funerale id Dario Fo, drammaturgo, attore, regista, scrittore e premio Nobel. Il corteo funebre si è snodato sotto la pioggia dal Piccolo Teatro a piazza del Duomo dove c'erano alcune migliaia di persone per l'ultimo saluto in una cerimonia laica. A tenere l'orazione funebre per il premio Nobel è stato Carlo (Carlin) Petrini, presidente di Slow Food e amico fraterno di Dario Fo.
La Banda degli Ottoni accompagna il corteo funebre.
On 1 May, the Universal
Exposition 2015 opens its doors to the public in the host city of Milan. A
live concert by Andrea Boccelli on 30 April marked the opening.
The area occupied by the Expo 2015 site is located about 15 km (about 10 miles)
northwest of Milan and is organised into five thematic pavilions. 148 countries
and many international corporations are contributing exhibits to the Expo.
The theme chosen for the
2015 Milan Universal Exposition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
This embraces technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity and
how they relate to food and diet. Expo 2015 will further develop themes
introduced in earlier Expos in the light of new global scenarios and emerging
issues, with a principal focus on the right to healthy, secure and sufficient
food for all the world’s inhabitants.
