If you walk in the the city you are bombarded with visual temptations. Lucky that you can see also something else as here a reflection. One for Weekend Reflections here.

In a city so full of water a reflection is never a problem as here in the Zwanenburgwal.

This little building contains architecture exhibitions as the home of architectural centum of Amsterdam called Arcam. Its also a nice reflector on the waterside. One for weekend reflections.

This double portrait I saw at the exposition of realism today in the "Drents museum Assen" past summer. I tried to find the name of the artist but until now without luck. It is a drawing made with color pencils and when I photographed it it became nearly a triple portrait.

Skyline of Almere city just 1 hour ago (6.30 am local time) after bringing biebkriebels and daughter to the bus station for a day trip to the brocante in Lille France.

This mirror at the designshop of Droog (link here) named in my post of thursday 21 june has this amazing coloring of everything it is reflecting. What you see in the mirror is a real reflection of the space before it and not just an interesting image. I walked 3 times around before I had the right angle to photograph this. One meter below the water level on the other side of the retaining wall construction workers lay the last hand on the buffer dam to prevent ships to collide with the building on the right in the water of the Y in amsterdam. After finishing the water is allowed over the dam and you only see the left wall out of the water covered with rubber fenders to prevent ships from damaging themselves by hitting it. Still the backing up by a concrete dam of 10 meter broad and 6 meter high anchored with piles in the ground to prevent sinking also with a retaining wall on the other side will prevent ships with sometimes a mass from more then 10.000 tons to crumple it like paper.

In some old parts of amsterdam the government has placed new streetlights. I must say they imitate old gaslight perfect. This all by reflecting the light very ingenious on a lens construction in the roof and from there against the inside of the glass housing. Really a great improvement on the old halogen lamps.
