Unexpected.

Never thought I'd see a woven wooden fence in an urban environment. Let alone also painted black. Wonder if it is a hobby from the owner. Really nice one for Good Fences here.

Cast-iron as fence. Unbeatable in sustainability. Now not more in use because the industry to make it is nearly extinct. One for good fences here.

Gate and door at Weesperplein underground station

The gates of the underground stations on the eastbound line are closed between 1 AM and 5.30 AM. The design of these doors are from Siet Zuyderland with great attention to detail. With thanks to the exhibition amsterdam artists in the amsterdam museum that attended me on these gates. One for good fences here.

In the Almere Woods.

A sign you don't expect in the middle of the Almere Woods.

Even as the path to go there is as beautiful as this one.

In the middle of the woods you find the quarantaine cages for the monkeys of Foundation Aap. Old monkeys used for laboratorium tests or abandoned by there owners and now being cared for a new life with their compagnons for a careless old day in relatieve freedom on the grounds in Almere or in Spain were the climate is better.

After healing and re-socializing he or she gets to a group of chimpanzees to enter a careless old age. One for sign, signs today here.

Bridge fence.

A bridge fence from bric, concrete and iron. A lot of materials. In the background the Montelbaans tower from 1516. This tower never had a church but was part of the defense works around amsterdam and got its white upper part with clock in 1606 designed by city architect Hendrik de Keyzer . One for Good Fences here.

The last fence

This fence along the gelderse kade is one of the last examples of street furniture designed by Alexander Schabrac in amsterdam. The most of his furniture (benches, streetlights and fences on the damrak and also on the nieuwe markt) placed in 1995 are already removed in 2005 because the city council did not find it fitting into the streetscape. ( Same who gave the commission in the first place, total cost €25 mil ).
