First house in Almere

This house was the first inhabited house in Almere 50 years ago.
Efforts were made to establish a museum house as a memorial to this event, and here we see the initiator, Ans van Berkum, and the mayor, Hein van der Loo, in the house during yesterday's official opening.
A great deal of attention has been paid to the interior design from 1975/1976.
I was also invited to the opening because at the time I was working for architect Joop van Stigt, who had designed these homes and I had drawn up all the plans.
It was a nice reunion.
And on this wall in the living room, there are some old drawings I made and some photos of Joop v Stigt and, to my surprise, one of myself, but that one was only four weeks old... of work 50 years ago.
(Header yes, the holidays are coming up again.)

Smallest theatre in Amsterdam.

For a long time, this location was home to the sausage production facility of the Hesseling family, renowned Amsterdam butchers. In 1989, Wim Kerkhoven, the puppeteer of Dam Square, took over the building and personally transformed it into the Pantijn puppet theatre. Later this intimate little theatre with its distinct living room-like feel came into the hands of local newspaper Het Parool. Since 2011 it has been known as the Torpedo Theater . (Text by amsterdam.com/heritagedays)
180º turned you have the bar. For non commercial party's the theater is also for rent at a starting price of just €200,- , bar support and catering is an extra service. (Yes they need a little help). One for Our World Tuesday here.

Its so nice to follow the canal the "oude gracht" in Utrecht on two levels.
The start of digging the canal was in 1122 and the housing and cellars date from the 16 and 17 century. So are the trees on the quay also very old and that you can see.  The total length is 2 km.

After years of restoration at last the scaffolding around the tower of the southern church will be removed. Even the bells in the carillon were removed and when necessary replaced. Hope it is now okay for the next 400 years. One for Skywatch Friday here.
