Utrecht 2 years ago.
Tomorrow the travel possibilities for public transport will be eased but still not enough to just go out so these kind of pictures will have to wait a while. Luckily we still have an archive.

A kind of Maria
In the shop of the Central Museum Utrecht in a former Chapel you find this mural and in my eyes it has something sacral. Artists Vreugenthal & Verhagen. One for Sami's Colourful World here.

Not your average plate.
This delft blue mural, made by Hugo Kaagman in 1991, is situated on the wall of the Utrecht museum and is called Bush Miller. One for Colourful World.

Living monuments
Its so nice to follow the canal the "oude gracht" in Utrecht on two levels.
The start of digging the canal was in 1122 and the housing and cellars date from the 16 and 17 century. So are the trees on the quay also very old and that you can see. The total length is 2 km.

Its not all old in Utrecht
If you are now arriving at the new rebuild train station in Utrecht ( the biggest in the country)
You have to do your best to find your way to the city
because everything is changed and still changing. You get really a bit lost feeling. One for Our World Tuesday here.

Utrecht again.
A little further along the canal behind the sign of yesterday you have this view. Yes all the old dutch towns have a lot of water in town. If it wasn't for drainage or commerce it would be used for military purpose but mostly for all three together. Don't forget that the Netherlands is just one big delta of the Rhine so water plenty.

Architectural models
On the construction fair was also a firm who presented itself as a model maker for architects.
In my eyes it was a bit to smooth but still remarkable
They had a complete wall covered with mostly interiors.

Something to see
Walking from the train to the trade fair I saw a lot of people looking out the window
They saw this. Never seen so a colorful and tidy construction site. A good start to go to a building trade fair in utrecht. ( The building in the right is the new musical theatre Vredenburg )

Collecting
Twice a year we have a big collecting fair in Utrecht. There you can exchange or buy every conceivable thing you can imagine. I still have a little collection of some slides and calculators as seen above.
and have used them in the early days of my profession. As the black one before the printed sheet on the first photo. It could multiply, divide and making cubic content calculations. Of course there is a lot of other stuff (photo impressions). You name it and it is there.
This year it is held at 12 and 13 April here.
