A Concert celebrating Dante coming up in June


Our Dante Alighieri Celebratory Concert, postponed last year due to the Covid emergency, will be finally held next month, on Saturday the 4th of June. The concert is inspired by Dante's poetry and celebrates his 700th anniversary featuring music by Puccini, Verdi and others, including a piece by Swedish composer Gunnar de Frumerie, inspired by Dante and Florence.

An Italian aperitivo will be served after the concert.

Thomas Roeshol, Elizabeth Mandeno, Andrew Grenon, Luca Magni and David Kelly


Saturday 4th of June, 5.00pm St Luke's Church, 130 Remuera Road, Auckland 

Tickets: $25 general admission/$20 Dante members 

Only door sales, cash or EFTPOS. All proceedings will be devolved to the preforming artists.


The concert is sponsored by the Italian Embassy in Wellington

We had a beautiful Festival Italiano concert on Sunday evening with flautist Luca Manghi e pianist David Kelly.


The program included Italian composers from the XVIII century through to contemporaries:
Locatelli, Rabboni, Catalani, De Lorenzo, Busoni, Malipiero, Casella, Gagliano and Morricone, with the added bonus of an encore (Rota).


Thank you all for attending, keeping distances and scanning the QR code! It was a real joy to be able to enjoy live music again!

Concerto di Natale this Saturday



The Dante Aligheri Society Auckland presents the final concert of its 2018 Chamber Music Series, to be followed by Panettone and Prosecco!

A pairing of romantic works from Italy and Germany, Catalani's "Danza delle Ondine" and Reinecke's Trio op. 188 for oboe, horn and piano, as well as music by Koechlin, Jan Bach and Franco Margola.

Photos from Festival Italiano Concert of 20 October 2018



Beautiful concert yesterday evening with with renown musicians Luca Manghi, flute and Matthew Marshall, guitar. Here are some photos by Gianni Flego.


The Festival Italiano concert, part of the Dante Alighieri Chamber Music Series, also fall during The Week of the Italian Language in the World 2018, so it was a double celebration, and many language students, as well as Italians, attended.




The musicians also talked about their repertoire and their instruments


The performance was well attended and followed by an Aperitivo, with drinks from our sponsors Peroni, Campari, and Italian Cuvée, and food prepared by our volunteers from the Dante Auckland.                                                            Thank you all for coming and see you at the next concert of the Dante Alighieri Chamber Music Series on 24th November!

Photos form our second Dante Concert with Tobias Ringborg


Wonderful concert last night with violinist Tobias Ringborg, in New Zealand to conduct La bohème at NZ Opera in September, who played with our local musicians Luca Manghi (flute) and David Kelly (piano). 

The programme included music from Italy, France and Sweden.

Thank you all for coming to our first concert in the 2018 Dante Alighieri Chamber Music SeriesThe event was well attended and the music selection included eighteenth-century Italian composers Cimarosa and Viotti, as well as Bach's G major suite for solo cello and Villa-Lobos' exciting "Jet Whistle". Dante Alighieri Concert Series: La Serva Padrona





Join us for a beautiful staged performance of Pergolesi's comedic masterpiece 
La Serva Padrona (The Maid as Mistress).

Sung in Italian

Directed by Emma Sloman, and presented in collaboration with Opera Factory.

Photos from the Dante Concert for the Italian Festival Season


A dreamy concert with harps, flute and viola tonight with Yi Jin's Harp Studio and Te Anahera NZ, with guests Wen-Chuan Lin (viola) and Luca Manghi (flute)


Music by Rossini, Puccini, Mascagni, and featuring Debussy's Sonata for flute, viola and harp. 

The concert was followed by our traditional Aperitivo with drinks from our sponsors (Grazie Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Aperol Spritz New Zealand, Cracroft Chase Vineyard and Riccadonna) and catering by Alessandra Zecchini and the Italian Language School Società Dante Alighieri Auckland volunteers.
