Cari lettori e care lettrici, dov’eravamo rimasti? Ah sì, a Trieste, nel bel mezzo della guerra, tra giovani coraggiosi e sovversivi, pescatori che non sono quello che sembrano, imprenditori dai traffici loschi e militari poco inclini all’ironia.
Le storie dei nostri sette protagonisti si sviluppano ora in parallelo, portando avanti i loro desideri, incontrando ostacoli e affrontando nemici che movimentano la trama e fanno evolvere le personalità , talvolta incagliandosi nelle complicazioni narrative. Sì, diciamo la verità , a un certo punto non sapevamo più da che parte stavano correndo, i nostri personaggi, e come ce la saremmo cavata!
E allora, cosa si può fare? Beh, ci si ferma a fare una bella merenda, a scambiare due chiacchiere tra compagni di scrittura per conoscerci meglio e allentare la tensione. Dopodiché, rincuorati, abbiamo riempito la lavagna di appunti, nomi, date e azioni per aiutarci a mettere ordine e incrociare le linee della narrazione.
Quando tutto è diventato più chiaro, ci siamo messi a lavorare sui dialoghi, per dare realismo e vivacità alle scene che venivano via via create. Infine, con un bel po’ di materiale tra le mani, abbiamo spinto i sette personaggi verso il punto di crisi massima della storia, quando i fili si incociano, i nemici sembrano avere la meglio e tutto sta per precipitare. Questa volta, per uscirne, abbiamo pensato a qualcosa di più… esplosivo!
Non penserete mica che vi stiamo per anticipare il finale, vero? Per quello, vi tocca leggere il nostro libro! Come? In occasione della Settimana della Lingua Italiana del Mondo, il 18 ottobre dalle 17,30 nei locali della Dante Alighieri Auckland celebreremo la fine lavori di questa avventura di scrittura, parleremo del progetto Una storia in Italia e presenteremo la nostra creazione!
Intanto, un grazie di cuore ai nostri incredibili studenti che non si sono mai persi d’animo e si sono tuffati con noi a capofitto nella storia – e nella Storia con S maiuscola! - e a tutti gli insegnanti e colleghi della Dante Alighieri Auckland che hanno collaborato con il loro prezioso aiuto – e tra tutti, il magnifico grafico e autore della copertina, Riccardo Lucignani. E grazie alla Società Dante Alighieri Sede Centrale senza la quale questo progetto non sarebbe stato possibile!

Creative Writing Course — Plot Development: Desires, Obstacles, and Twists
Dear readers, where were we? Oh yes, in Trieste, in the middle of the war, among brave and rebellious young people, fishermen who are not what they seem, shady businessmen and military men with little sense of humor.
The stories of our seven protagonists now develop in parallel, advancing their desires, encountering obstacles and facing enemies that shake up the plot and lead to character development, even if they sometimes get bogged down in narrative complications. Yes, let’s be honest, at some point we lost track of which direction our characters were heading and how we would get out of it!
So what can you do in such cases? Well, you take a break for a tasty snack, chat with fellow writers to get to know each other better and ease the tension. Calmly, we then filled the board with notes, names, dates and plots to organise and interweave the storylines.
As everything became clearer, we started working on the dialogue to add more realism and vibrancy to the scenes that were being created. Finally, with a good amount of material in hand, we pushed the seven characters towards the ultimate crisis point of the story, when the threads intertwine, the enemies seem to have the upper hand and everything is on the verge of collapse. To get out of it, this time we've come up with something a little more... Explosive!

As part of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana del Mondo, we'll be celebrating the conclusion of this writing adventure on October 18 at 5.30 pm at the Dante Alighieri Auckland, discussing the Una storia in Italia project and presenting our work!
