Festa di Natale - Italian Christmas Party

at the Dante Auckland!

You are all invited to our Festa di Natale! Join us for:

Live music with the Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra
Fun and games for the bambini and for the whole family
Panettone and other Italian gourmet food from JK.14 available on the day
Check our our new venue and discover our Italian library and facilities
See the photographic exhibition Italians of Auckland by Francesca Brugnoli.

This will be our last event for the year, and a great chance to meet up to exchange Xmas greetings before the holidays. Everyone is welcome, bring a plate or a drink to share and invite your friends along too!

Dante Auckland's Operetta

Wonderful evening with "L’Impresario", Mozart’s operetta adapted and directed by Matteo Telara.

Bravo

 to our pianist David Kelly and to the actors and singers Thomas Røsholl, Te Ohorere Williams, Maeve Herd, and Matteo Telara. 

After the operetta there was a refreshment, thank you to all the participants who brought food (especially Namir, who cooked a lot of food like polpette and melanzane Parmigiana!)
and Massimo's Italian cheeses for the mozzarella!

L'Operetta è stata realizzata grazie al generoso contributo della Sede Centrale della Società Dante Alighieri di Roma, che ringraziamo calorosamente!

Save the date! L’Impresario, Mozart’s operetta on stage

Sunday 4 December, 7:00 pm

Next month the Dante Alighieri Auckland, with the
support of the Dante Alighieri Society in Rome, is staging
Mozart’s operetta The Impresario, with the original
libretto of Gottlieb Stephanie adapted by Matteo Telara
to be half in English and half in Italian.

Direction and adaptation: Matteo Telara
Pianist: David Kelly
Actors/singers: Thomas Røsholl, Te Ohorere Williams,
Maeve Herd, Matteo Telara
After the operetta there will be a refreshment, and a 
Christmas Function to celebrate the end of another year
together at the Dante!

Our annual Mercatino di Natale (Italian Xmas Market) is back! See you all on Saturday 14th December for a day of fun, to meet up before the holidays, exchange greetings and best wishes for the Season, for shopping and eating together, e per parlare italiano!

Mercatino di Natale is Free Entry and run as a not-for-profit.

Mercatino di Natale - Italian Christmas Market

Come to the Mercatino di Natale for all your Italian Xmas shopping and save! Traditional Italian Christmas food and sweets, Italian books and gifts, nativity sets and Christmas tree decorations, crafts and pre-loved Italian clothes and accessories. Italian coffee and pastries plus wood fired pizza will be available on the day, so bring the whole family for an Italian Xmas experience.

Festa di Natale della Dante

Grazie a tutti per essere venuti al nostro annuale appuntamento festivo: La Festa di Natale della Dante!
Anche quest'anno abbiamo cominciato con il saggio dei bambini del Playgroup italiano, seguito dagli auguri alle mamme ed i papà (e nonni e nonne!).

Poi sono saliti sul palco i bambini della scuola italiana per il loro saggio e giochi di luci.

Nel frattempo gli altri ospiti ed i partecipanti al Dante Quiz hanno cominciato ad arrivare.

Abbiamo stappato il prosecco, tagliato focaccia, formaggi e salumi, e preparato un bel buffet italiano (grazie a tutti coloro che hanno contribuito portando un piatto e/o una bottiglia).

Il Quiz è iniziato, presentato dal nostro inimitabile Luca Manghi, e con tanti piccoli premi per rallegrare la serata.

Alcune domande erano difficili, ma tutti i partecipanti sono stati bravissimi, e soprattutto la squadra vincente: Pensiero Stupendo.

Al secondo posto si è classificata la squadra I Confusi, ed al terzo posto, a pari merito, le squadre Se piangi se ridi e Nel blu dipinto di blu.

La serata si è conclusa con panettone e auguri.
