Just A Reminder

To all those who expressed interest in testing recipes for a possible cookbook.

I'm still looking for recipe reviews! The hope is that there will be a more-or-less completed manuscript by September, which is getting to be not that far away. Time to get those reviews in, if you are still interested.

A Question About Cookbook Organization

How would you like to see recipes arranged in a cookbook (about, oh say, Seasonal Ontario Food)? Specifically, I am thinking about whether to sort by type of dish, or by main ingredient.

For example, would you like to look for "Spinach Soup" and "Spinach Salad" under "Spinach"? Or would you prefer to look for them under "Soup" and "Salad" respectively? Just wondering...

Jumping Off a Cliff...

Hello, everybody.

I've been thinking - for years, really - about writing a cookbook, and I've finally decided it's time to take the plunge. I figure I've got about two-thirds of one here already, but I need some help. From you, perhaps.

If you are interested in testing recipes and generally giving me some feed-back about what I am doing, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the deal: if you test 20 (or more if you like, I wouldn't mind) recipes for me, I will send you a copy of the cookbook once such a thing comes into existance. Assuming it does come into existance of course; if it ends up not happening somehow I will send you some other small token of my esteem and gratitude. But I don't see why it shouldn't happen, even if I have to publish it myself.

If you are interested in assisting me with this project, please email me at ferdzy2 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

My thought (at the moment) is that I will take a year to test recipes and finish writing the cookbook; that is, starting now with the earliest spring vegetables and working through all the seasons as, of course, the cookbook would be arranged with considerable references to the seasons.

If you are interested, get in touch and within about a week (I hope) I will reply to you with more information about what I am looking for in the way of help.

I'm excited about this and look forward to hearing from... maybe you!

UPDATE: I'm going to stop taking offers to test recipes at this point (1:00 pm May 4th) as I have had 21 volunteers already! Thanks for your interest everyone, and wow, can I stop using the word "exciting" yet? No, I don't think I can. This is exciting. Definitely.
